Thapar University MTech Admission 2024

Under the stream of Engineering, the Deemed-to-be University offers an MTech programme at the PG level. Admission to the programme is based on a valid score in GATE. TIET application process is conducted through an online mode. Candidates have to register online through the official website of the Deemed-to-be University. MTech is offered in seven specialisations, which are mentioned below:

Placements: 1. Around 90% of students get internships. 2. The average package is 7-8 lacs. 3. Top companies visited the campus for placements, including Dell, HP, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, etc. 4. Many students got PPOs from companies. 5. The highest package was around 14–15 LPA.

Infrastructure: The research labs are well-equipped with instruments and sitting furniture. The Wi-Fi facility is 24x7. Classrooms are well-equipped with smart screens and projectors. A huge library with a good collection of different books is on campus. Hostels are well furnished with single and double rooms and equipped with AC. The quality of the mess food is very good and night canteens are also inside the hostels. The gym facility is there in the hostel as well. A dedicated sports complex and swimming pool are there for students.

Faculty: 1. The faculty is well qualified and expert in teaching. The teaching quality is excellent. 2. Exams are made to be a bit difficult for exams to examine the understanding better. 3. Yes, the curriculum is designed in such a way as to get in touch with industry standards and well-curated lab experiments.

Review of Thapar University.

Placements: 90% of students will be recruited by the top companies. The highest package till now recorded was 63 LPA, the lowest was 2.5 LPA (basic package). Average package lies between 4 LPA to 20 LPA. More number of students will get this average package. Top recruiting companies are BHEL, Havels, Philips, NTPC.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is excellent for my course; they provided enough things in all sectors like classrooms, labs, playing, enjoyment, entertainment, extracurricular activities, social services, etc. Some additional clubs are formed like photography, music, etc.

Faculty: Good faculty; the excellence is most of the staff members are senior faculty members, and they know how to teach for this college students. Frequently questions are asked while class is going on. Daily basis work is given as a task, for that they allot marks for every student.

Placements: Around 50% of the students get placed. Students are eligible for placements in the last semester and they are informed about companies through the placement cell. The highest salary package offered was 6.5 LPA and the average salary package offered was 3 LPA. Students are assigned projects related to software.

Infrastructure: Library is very efficient. It has 3 floors and all kinds of books related to academic and non-academic subjects are available. The seating arrangement is very good. Air-conditioners and computers are present. In some classrooms, projectors are available. For sports, university has well-maintained stadiums like hokey stadium, cricket stadium and football stadium along with well-trained coaches. Hostels have 2 and 4-seater rooms. There is the facility of coolers but not air-conditioners in rooms. Hostels are very affordable. It has a garden, a canteen, a mess, a television room and a table tennis room. In mess meal quality is above average and there is a proper weekly menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A sweet dish is provided along with dinner.

Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified, with doctorate degrees in particular fields. Teaching method is completely practical as there are lots of fields and each field is assigned to a particular professor who is conducting his research. Exams are held at a monthly interval and are not very difficult to pass. Pass percentage is around 50%.

The facilities are good, placements are well, but internships are not good.

Placements: Around 95% of students are placed in our university. The highest salary package offered is around 45 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 14 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA to 4 LPA. The opportunities are very less because around 200 students get internships from campus out of 2500 students. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Intuit video, and Net Gamescraft.

Infrastructure: The hostels are fully air-conditioned. The classrooms also provide air-conditioners. The hostel fee is around Rs 50,000 per semester. The facilities are very good, and it has a big ground for playing different sports. It provides a swimming pool, tennis court, badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, volleyball court, and cricket stadium.

Faculty: Exams of this college are of average level, students can pass it in 1 or 2 days before the exam. Faculty members are not good, and students have attendance criteria of 75%, mandatory attendance of centers of these colleges around 35%. Students have a grading system in which a grade is the next that is 10 CGPA, and a minus is 9 b is 8 b - is 7 and c is 6 c minus is 5 and after that, students will fail.

Other: The facilities are good but the fee is very high like 20 lakhs for 4 years, and this is very high. The mess has a rush at peak times, and they cannot handle it. The hostels have laundry facilities also.

I suggest trying to focus on languages like VHDL, Verilog, Perl and Python.

Placements: The college has good placement opportunities. It is a good college to study and have fun. Our college has got an excellent atmosphere, especially for undergraduates and placements. It also develops our skills in 1 or 2 languages. In the 1st semester, I have worked on mentor graphics, Ubuntu and Xilinx ISE.

Infrastructure: The institute has 13 hostels with all the basic facilities like a gym room, TV room, air-conditioned reading room, etc. The library is centrally air-conditioned, and it remains open for 24 hours. Books are easily available in the library so that we don't need to buy them.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They help us whenever we find any difficulty in any subject. In online mode, it was difficult to pursue M.Tech in VLSI design, but teachers are very cooperative and give their best to help us in every situation.

Other: I always wanted to be a part of this university because our college environment is very good, and people are much focused. They enjoy it as well whenever any event comes and also participate in extracurricular activities.

Our college provides a great infrastructure and the latest facilities.

Placements: Around 35-40% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Major companies do not visit our college to hire ECE students. Students got placed in Intel through the college-based internships. Don't rely on college, and you have to find a job on your own.

Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms and library are of top-class. Our college has a very good infrastructure. The hostels are good, and the food served in the hostel is very good with a lot of variety. They listen to students' needs. It had loads of variety every day, and you will never feel like skipping breakfast.

Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful and qualified. They had high knowledge of their domains. Their teaching quality was good. The course curriculum is also good, and it made me excel in my field and provide practical knowledge. Our college provided great teachers for my subjects.
