B.A. (Hons.) in Economics - Batch of 2027
Offered by Hindu College, University of Delhi
3.8
4Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
There are some drawbacks but for the most part, being in Hindu College is an enriching experience.
Placements: Hindu has recently been rated as NIRF 1, so the placement rate is quite good. Being a first-year student, I do not have a lot of details regarding this placement season. But it is for sure that the average salary package offered ranges from 8-9 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 23 LPA. One drawback is that not all courses have the same placements. Recruiters prefer students of economics or commerce over other courses, so this data may not be inclusive of all students.
Infrastructure: Hindu is renowned for its infrastructure. It is a beautiful campus with a lot of greenery. It has a very peaceful and serene vibe. Lawns and grounds are well-maintained. The library is one of a kind. It was recently renovated and it has such a beautiful slight. It is spacious and has an aesthetic with all kinds of books and magazines. Classrooms in the old academic block are not that great but still better than many government colleges. The ones in the new academic block are good with air-conditioners and quality benches. Wi-Fi is erratic and does not always work.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. Their way of teaching may vary from one teacher to another. All of them are very supportive and cooperative. I would not say that we have the best course curriculum, since all DU colleges have the same syllabus, it is a university-wide problem. Most of the syllabus is outdated and not practical. However, the other opportunities that this college provides make us for the industry part. I have not yet given my semester exams, but I have observed from PYQs that they are moderate and doable.
Other: I chose economics primarily because of the combination of subjectivity and objectivity that this subject has interested me. The future prospects in economics are great. Hindu is renowned for its annual fest Mecca which I am very excited about. The crowd in this college is relatively elite. There are students from varying backgrounds. The connectivity across the North campus is great and I have a lot of friends from other colleges too. As for scholarships, there is one major scholarship based on merit, other than that there are some waivers for students from other categories.

B.A. (Hons.) in Persian - Batch of 2026

2Placements2Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Different aspects of Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Placements here are very low. Very few placements are provided, and that too for very few courses. For a B.A. (Hons.) in Persian, there is no placement cell, but this course will provide you opportunities in various other fields outside the college, like a job in the embassy, translator jobs, etc.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not campus-wide. There is an 11-story new building, but they do not open it for the last 4-5 years. They are teaching us in the old building. The water here is also under scrutiny as the TDS level of the water is more than 250, which is very harmful. The hostel is not provided for this college.
Faculty: Faculty members of B.A. (Hons.) in Persian are very good. Teachers here are very highly qualified and also very helpful. Their quality of teaching is the best. Semester exams are not so tough as mostly PYQs are repeated. For a result, there is a grade system in our college.

Offered by Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi
2.6
2Placements2Infrastructure4Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
College is good in everything except the infrastructure.
Placements: 85 percent of the students are placed in my course. The lowest package, according to my course, is 20000 and the highest is 50,000. Not many but some private companies recruit from here. In my course, the majority of students are preparing for government jobs, so they have no choice but to go to other companies .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are not good. The foods are available in the canteen, which is also good. The seating arrangements are also very good but they are very dirty some times, so we need to make clean place where we are come to eat and have lunch, etc.
Faculty: Teaching is excellent and most classes are running regularly. There is not much doubt in the teachers teachings. The professors are giving us study material so we are studying with our free minds.
Other: I chose this course because it will be easy to prepare for my future studies and prepare for my goal without any problems. Preparation are running well by this course and by the study material .

B.A. (Hons.) in Economics - Batch of 2025
Offered by Jesus and Mary College ,University of Delhi
4.8
4Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The college has good infrastructure and an elite crowd.
Placements: Around 47 to 50 students are enrolled in Economics Honours. To get into Economics Honours at JMC, one needs to score a minimum of 750 out of 800 marks in academics. In my batch, a few students were placed in Bain, and a few in Accenture. Companies recruiting from my course include KPMG, Genpact, Deloitte, and DE Shaw. The domains these companies offer include finance, marketing, and research.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary College is one of the most prestigious colleges of Delhi University. It is located in a peaceful and scenic spot in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The infrastructure consists of three major blocks that are administrative, academic, and a library block, nicknamed the L Building. There is also a stationery shop, two common rooms, an open gym area, a medical room, a football ground, a tennis court and basketball court. Thevenet Hall is probably the most conspicuous landmark of the infrastructure.
Faculty: Faculty members at Jesus and Mary College are generally well-qualified and very friendly. They keep the faculty-student ratio fairly well-balanced. Professors are pleasant and inspire participation from students in open discussions that result in a sound learning atmosphere. They provide guidance regarding academic matters as well as extracurricular projects. Individual experience with the faculty members may vary otherwise according to expectations from individuals with regard to subject matter preference. In Economics Honours, the majority of the papers are quantitative, thus necessitating a strong mathematical and statistical background.
Other: The Economics Honours course at Jesus and Mary College is updated, relevant, and in-depth, both theoretically and practically, with a specific focus on building the foundation of economic concepts and fostering analytical and problem-solving skills, so I have chosen this course. It is designed to build a strong foundation in economic concepts while encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The relevance and rigor of the course curriculum help in personal and professional development. The crowd here is often described as elite, with students excelling in academics, extracurricular, and leadership roles. At Jesus and Mary College (JMC), college life is full of opportunities.

My experience in our college.
Placements: About 37 students are there in my course. The highest salary package offered in 2023 is 21.50 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Many companies visit the college to participate in placements. About 60-70% of the economic students grab most of the opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is quite good but some of the classes are too small that we have to carry a chair from other classes for sir. The library is too big with enough books to read. The collection of books is quite impressive. Sports ground is also too big and the most important thing is that there is a gym also. The medical facilities of my college are so bad and I do not know even where it is placed.
Faculty: Teachers of my third semester were impressive but before this, I was not totally satisfied with them. They do not come to college and mark attendance online which I found a big demerit of my college. They now have their own material. Semester exams are easy for students who are reading on their own, and students who depend on teachers face problems.

Yes I am dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: I have generally not heard about placements from my department students who try for IIT JAM and other field jobs. some go for UPSC government exams students come here to do coaching and other curricular activities which develop their personality physically as well as mentally.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is okok not too good mostly washrooms GATE doesnot have latch. Library is fine and canteen requires cleanliness also the classroom are cheated as in summer there in no proper ventilation and fans working, also no edu comp classes held.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful if you are regular usually students study just for the sake of exams, not seriously and most of the teachers focus on the quick covering of the syllabus In the end students have to study on their own. Stone hardly managed to pass due to their carelessness.
Other: There are a lot of groups in our batch. No fest no alumni, not good crowd students are much involved in politics.

A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).
