The college doesn't provide a good way for internships and also, the branches like chemical and metallurgy have a very low placement ratio.

My college review detail.
Placements: Around 60% of students were placed overall in my course. The highest salary package offered is 16.9 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. Vedanta, Rashmi Metallics, L&T, and JSW companies hire most from our course. RIL and BIS offer internship opportunities. RIL is currently offering internship opportunities that are paid. Students also got internships in PSUS but unpaid just for experience in the industries. Also, it is compulsory 1 credit course of tour and training.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of classrooms and department is really good including labs, library, committed room, and seminar halls. Wi-Fi facility is available on campus. In hostels, we have LAN in every room. But there is a thing that in 1 room 4 people are there in 3rd year but in 4th year it is of 2. This disturbs a lot of studies and lacks privacy too. Every lab has various equipment which is very much relevant and helpful for our studies. It makes us aware of handling equipment efficiently.
Faculty: Faculty members are very much helpful and well qualified. Course curriculum is efficient and less hectic. It does make students industry-ready by giving us practical knowledge. Semester exams are average not too hard or easy. Depending upon the subject complexity it is moderate.

National Institute of Technology Srinagar.
Placements: The highest package offered was 18 LPA in Electrical Engineering, and the average placement was 10 LPA in Electrical Engineering. For internships, very few teaching companies visited, such as Oracle and Cummins India. Students, by themselves, approached companies for internships, and the internship percentage was 100%. Several companies visited the campus, such as Google, Microsoft, Adobe, HPCL, BPCL, PGCIL, etc.
Infrastructure: There are a total of 4 boys' hostels: INDUS, CHENAB, TAWI, JHELUM, and JHELUM EXTENSION. Wi-Fi is available in all hostels. Food quality is quite good, but you can't get the taste of your home. Sports facilities are quite good compared to previous years.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in the first year in all departments, but as you enter your core subjects, you will find that the Electrical and Electronics and Communication departments are very strict. All the faculty are supportive. Semester exams are not difficult; only the topics taught in class will be asked in the exam. The passing percentage is 40% of the overall marks.

NIT Srinagar review in general.
Placements: Placement rate is not good, many seniors having good CGPA do not get placement. The highest package is about 20 LPA and the lowest is 6 LPA. The average package is about 12 LPA. Sorry, but top companies don't come here. The percentage of students who got placement is also low.
Infrastructure: In general, teachers are good, but due to lack of facilities and advanced labs, they can't give their best. The library is good enough for studying but is very small. Hostels are not good; in one room, there are 5 boys, and there is total chaos and confusion the whole day. Sports, canteen, and medical care are good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but due to lack of facilities and advanced labs, they can't give their 100%. Classes are small, and the course curriculum is not relevant. It does not make us ready for industrial work. Furthermore, exams are too easy.
Other: I think ECE has vast and great scope in the future, which is why I chose ECE as my engineering course. There are many great things related to this course, e.g., it gives us skills about semiconductors, which is the future in general. Labs in this college are not good, so they do not make us skillful.

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar.
Placements: 7th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. In this ongoing year, many companies like Autodesk, Nvidia, Oracle, Samsung, Tata Steel, etc., visited for placements. The highest offer is from Autodesk, offered to two students, with a CTC of 35.5 LPA. The average package is around 10.48 LPA. Almost 75-80% of students get placed. I plan to get a good placement after my degree.
Infrastructure: In our hostel room, almost every facility is available, like an attached bathroom in the Jhelum Extension hostel, a geyser available for winter, LAN, Wi-Fi, etc. The meal quality is decent, and the menu is also good. The registration process for the hostel is easy, and you can apply at the time of admission. The hostels are affordable. Hostel charges are 16,000, and mess charges are 40,000 annually.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is good. For every 15-20 students, a faculty member is available. Almost all faculty members are very friendly and helpful. I like almost all, but my favorite is Dr. Noor Zaman Khan, whose teaching style is very good, and communication between students and faculty is also excellent. There is not a particular faculty member I don't like. There are two exams per semester: mid and end-term. The exams are decent, and mostly, the questions come from class notes.

Satisfied with the scenic view only!
Placements: In this early placement season, a total of 21 students are placed: 5 placed in Tech at 6 LPA, 16 placed in core at 11.5 LPA. Rashmi Metallics was the top core recruiter for MME, Nexturn, and Acme Grade were other recruiters in Tech. Data might be increased now.
Infrastructure: Moderate infra according to the region. New mega hostel is under construction. New land for the campus is allotted by the government. Labs are good. The library holds 200 students at a time, has all books of course & compt. exams. All sports are here, average mess food, and Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Almost all faculty have done Ph.D. from IITs or NITs. The curriculum is revised according to the industry and it is relevant. Classes are good. Some teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Never argue with teachers.
Other: The best thing about my course is that it is easy as compared to other courses; students get ample time to prepare for competitive exams like GATE or UPSC. Our branch has good records in GATE selection. Our branch needs to be practical-oriented, taking us to various expeditions. Regular technical and cultural fests are organized here. Connectivity is average. There are a lot of extracurricular activities to do like sports, Sargam club, NSS, etc. Scholarships are provided to selected students only. The campus crowd is good, unlike top NITs and IITs. Team NIT Srinagar was runner-up in SIH-2024.

For civil engineering, this college is not preferable because placements are not good for it.
Placements: In B.Tech Civil Engineering, only 60% of students get placement. The highest package is 19 LPA and the lowest is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, etc. About 70 to 75% of students get internships offered by companies. Top roles offered are structural engineering and more.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are below average; a single room is occupied by 5 students. Labs are good but not well-equipped; we can say they are decent. The library is very small; it can't hold more than 100 students at a time and also books are very limited. Overall, it's bad for those who are thinking that they will get space or books rather than engineering. In the hostel, the food quality is decent. The facilities like water, Wi-Fi, etc., are very bad. Medical facilities are excellent. Sports are decent here, and the college is providing very few funds for sports events.
Faculty: Teachers are good, and they are well-qualified as well as knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Exams are medium level in mid-sem, but pretty hard in end-sem, and the pass percentage is 40%.
