NIT Srinagar has a semi-restricted campus life for girl students, with allowed movements within specified timings. The dress code is flexible, and there are multiple sports facilities and coaches available. However, there are additional expenses for books and eating out, and the college has a moderately busy event calendar. The mess food is of acceptable quality and hygiene, and attendance policies are strictly enforced. The college culture is mostly English-speaking, with diverse student backgrounds and no reported discrimination. Academic life focuses on textbook-based lectures and case studies, with accessible research resources and security measures such as guards and CCTV cameras.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of NIT Srinagar is mixed. Some reviewers found the facilities to be good, with high-tech classrooms, a well-maintained library and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. However, others had negative experiences with the hostel facilities, stating that there were too many students living in each room and the Wi-Fi was not available in all areas. Additionally, some reviewers mentioned that the buildings are not in great shape and need improvement.

As per the PEC University Chandigarh cutoff 2023, the last round closing cutoff was 32970, which is on the higher side. It means the competition is less for EE at PEC Chandigarh as compared to NIT Srinagar. For 2022 and 2021, the last round cutoff stood at 1704 and 1267, respectively for NIT Sringar EE course.
