GATE 2025 Aerospace Engineering Syllabus: Exam Pattern

In the Aerospace Engineering Test Paper of GATE 2025, the general aptitude section will carry 15 marks; the remaining 85 marks are subject-specific, of which Engineering Mathematics carries 13 marks.

The mode of the exam is online, and the duration of the GATE 2025 examination is three hours. The GATE 2025 question paper consists of multiple-objective, multiple-select, and numerical aptitude test-type questions.

GATE 2025 Aerospace Engineering Syllabus: Recommended Books

Candidates can refer to the books below to prepare for GATE Aerospace Engineering (AE). The list combines engineering mathematics, general aptitude, and core subject-specific.

Q:   I got 85 percentile in CAT. Can I get a seat at IIT Bombay?

A:

IIT Bombay CAT Cutoff 2023 was released in the form of CAT percentile. The Cutoff was released for different categories under the All India category. In 2023, the Cutoff percentile to get MBA at IIT Bombay was 90. The IIT Bombay MBA Cutoff percentile has remained constant for the past three years. Therefore, it is less likely for candidate getting 85 percentile to get admission at IIT Bombar, among the General AI category.

Q:   Can I join a B.Sc course at IIT Madras without giving JEE?

A:

IIT Madras BSc admission is entrance-based as the institute primarily accepts the rank and scores of the JEE Main examination for admission to its full-time BSc programme. However, if candidates wish to apply for the integrated BS plus MS programme, then they can apply for admission through the scores of the IISER Aptitude Test. Therefore, you can join the BSc course at IIT Madras without giving the JEE.

Q:   Can I get MTech in IIT Bombay with GATE?

A:

Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

Q:   Can I join IIT Bombay after Class 12?

A:

Admission to the institute after Class 12 is open for BTech, BS and BDes courses. After completing Class 12, candidates must qualify JEE Main, JEE Advanced followed by the JoSAA Counselling for BTech and BS courses. For BDes, UCEED score is required for admission.

Q:   Can we join IIT Madras without JEE?

A:

Yes, there are many other courses for which the selection criteria are different and the prescribed entrance exam is also other than JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced. Below are some of the courses offered at IIT Madras along with their eligibility criteria and entrance exam:

  • MTech: IIT Madras offers a two-year full-time M.Tech programme across various specialisations. The institute inducts candidates for the M.Tech programmes based on valid GATE scores followed by the counselling process.
  • MBA: For admission to the full-time two year MBA programme at IIT Madras, candidates are required to appear for the CAT exam. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (PI) round.
  • MSc: IIT Madras accepts admission to the MSc programme based on a valid score/ rank in the IIT-JAM exam.
