Expected GATE 2026 Cutoff for IIITs
Based on the previous GATE cutoff 2026 trend analysis, here are the expected IIIT GATE cutoff scores to be acceptable at top, mid, and new institutions. For such institutes, candidates have to register directly on their official website. IIIT Hyderabad conducts its own entrance exam. Registrations are open and last date to submit form is March 31. The GATE counselling is conducted online by CCMT and COAP. Authorities announced GATE results 2026 on March 19. Qualified candidates can participate in counselling. COAP is done IIT and IISc admission and CCMT for NITs and other institutions.

The highest GATE cutoff score for NIT M.Tech admission typically ranges from 800 to 850 in the first round. Some of the top NITs include NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy, and NIT Warangal, accept admissions with GATE score 800 above for branches like EC, CS, ME, and EE.
Qualified candidates have to register at the CCMT portal to participate in the GATE counselling. The counselling process will begin in June/July.
GATE counselling 2026 will be conducted by COAP and CCMT, which will be done by respective IITs and IISc on rotational basis.

If your GATE score is low, under 500, then you can opt for new IIITs like IIIT Manipur, IIIT Agartala, IIIT Kota, etc. Also, CCMT often conduct spot rounds to fill up vacant seats. Look for interdisciplinary branches, which are less competitive than CSE and DA.

Aspirants with GATE scores can get admission in M.Tech programme at IIIT Pune. The seats are allotted via CCMT Counselling. In 2025, the closing GATE cutoff was 354 for Electronics & Communication Engineering and 536 for CSE. The cutoffs are quite competitive considering the limited seats available
