How to Calculate JEE Mains April 4 Percentile?

JEE Main results are prepared using percentile scores, not raw marks. The percentile reflects how a candidate has performed relative to others in the same shift.

Percentile Calculation Formula:

Percentile = (Number of candidates scoring equal to or less than you ÷ Total candidates in that shift) × 100

Percentiles are calculated separately for each shift and later normalised to prepare the final merit list.

While a JEE Main score isn't strictly mandatory for everyone, having one is a big plus. Amity University Mohali mostly looks at your school grades (merit-based), but a good JEE Main score makes your application stronger. High scores in national exams can also help you qualify for scholarships.

Mahatma Gandhi Engineering College considers JEE Main scores for admission into BTech programme. But, it is not compulsory exam for taking admission in BTech in this college. The college can also provide admission based on merit in Class 12 for the candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

If you get above 93 percentile in the 1st or 2nd session of JEE Main, take preparation of JEE advanced. You can get IIT's seat through JEE advanced. Or you can also try for NITs. If you are unable to clear the cutoff, you can also give exams for state government colleges and exams for specific colle
