There are certain regulations issued by the NTA which may affect your choice of outfit on the exam day. Know what is best to wear in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam as per instructions from NTA on JEE Main Dress code. 

JEE Main Dress Code 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently released the advisory stating the dos and don’ts for JEE Main 2024 exam. NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam from April 4 to 15 in computer-based mode. Like the first phase, this time there is no mention of the JEE Main dress code 2024 that one should follow on the day of the exam. However, there are certain regulations issued by the NTA which may affect your choice of outfit on exam day. NTA has specifically mentioned, "Shoes with thick soles and garments with large buttons not allowed". Read below to know the dos and don’ts vis a vis exam dress code including the following:

JEE Main 2024 Dress Code - What To Wear And What Not To Wear

Take a look at the pointers below to get a thorough understanding of what you should and shouldn’t wear to your JEE Main test centre.   

What to wear:

  • Wear simple, plain and comfortable clothes to avoid undergoing exhaustive checking
  • Try wearing half sleeves clothes that are light and do not have many drapes
  • Complicated hairstyles or clothing will lead to a longer frisking session
  • If you wear any religious attire please reach out before the time for thorough frisking

What not to wear:

  • Avoid wearing clothes that have metal attached to them (underwired bras, belts etc)
  • Avoid wearing any kind of jewellery or other accessories
  • Do not wear long-sleeved clothes or attires/trousers with too many pockets/deep pockets
  • Do not wear shoes with thick soles. Candidates wearing shoes have to face longer frisking/checking procedures. Wear sandals/slippers
  • Do not wear garments with large buttons.
  • Do not wear fancy stoles, scarfs, watches, sunglasses etc

Guidelines for COVID-19 safety

  • Candidates are advised to follow all the rules and regulations set by the authority for safety.
  • Wearing a mask from home is compulsory along with washing hands and sanitising them at the entry of the centre
  • Maintaining social distance is mandatory
  • All computers will be sanitized after every shift
  • Invigilators will wear gloves and masks to ensure hygiene

Guideline for JEE Main 2024 Paper 2 (BArch candidates)

  • Aspirants appearing for JEE Main 2024 Paper 2 will be allowed to carry Geometry Box Set, Pencils, Erasers and Colour Pencils or Crayons.  
  • These Candidates are not allowed to use watercolour on Drawing Sheets. 

Guideline for Diabetic Students

  • Such candidates will be allowed to carry eatables to the examination hall. These include sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottles.
  • Diabetic students will not be allowed to carry packed foods including candy. Chocolates, sandwiches, packed juices, biscuits etc.

Q:   What is JEE Main 2025 exam date?

A:

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 exam date session 1. The session 1 exam will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24 28 and 29, 2025 for Paper 1. For Paper 2, the exam date is January 30, 2025. JEE Main 2025 session 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. NTA has ended JEE Main 2025 session 1 registration. JEE Main Application form 2025 session 1 was available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

Q:   When will NTA release JEE Main exam city intimation slip 2025?

A:

NTA will release the JEE Mains exam city slip 2025 session 1 in January, around a week before the exam. JEE Main City Intimation Slip 2025 will be available for download on the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. To download the JEE Mains exam city intimation slip, candidates need to login on the website using their application number and date of birth. The exam city slip will have details of city in which the test centre of candidate is located and the date of exam.

Q:   Where can I check JEE Main 2025 exam date?

A:

NTA has released the JEE Main 2025 dates on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. The session 1 exam will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29, 2025 (Paper 1), and January 30, 2025 (Paper 2). The session 2 JEE Main 2025 exam date is April 1 to 8, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 application form session 1 has been released and the last date to apply was November 22, 2024.   2. One passport-size photograph. It should be the same as the one uploaded in the JEE Main online application form. The photo will be pasted on the attendance sheet at the centre

A:

NTA has announced the JEE Main exam date 2025 session 1 and 2. The first session exam will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29, 2025 (Paper 1), and January 30, 2025 (Paper 2). The second session of JEE Mains will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 exam date for sessions 1 and 2 can be checked on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.  

Q:   When will NTA release JEE Main exam city slip 2025?

A:

JEE Main city intimation slip 2025 will be available on the NTA official website jeemain.nta.ac.in a few days before the exam. JEE Mains City slip have details about the JEE Main exam city in which the candidate is allotted the centre to appear in the exam and the date of exam. It helps candidates to plan their travel to the JEE Main exam centre in advance. JEE Main city intimation slip is different from the admit card.

Q:   Are calculators allowed inside exam centre in JEE Main exam?

A:
Students are not allowed to carry calculators inside the exam centre in JEE Main exam. Students can use the virtual calculator available on the screen during the exam. Virtual calculators will be available on the computer screen of students during the JEE Main exam.

Q:   Will there be any break in JEE Main 2025 exam?

A:
The total duration of JEE Main exam is 3 hours and the exam is conducted continuous without any break. Candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall as per the scheduled time and can leave only after the completion of paper. The exam will have a total of 90 questions from 3 subjects, Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Students have to answer 75 questions out of 90 in 3 hours without any break. Also, there is no separate time for subjects and students can appear any subject based on his/her choice.

Q:   Where can I find important study materials for JEE Mains preparation?

A:
Students can check details about JEE Main important chapter and topics from this page. While it is necessary that students pay special attention to chapters with high weightage, it is highly advised that they cover the full JEE Mains syllabus. The question paper of JEE Main is prepared by considering the entire JEE syllabus which consists of topics from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics from class 11 and 12. Important study material for JEE Main like books or short notes can be checked online. Students who are taking coaching can get the study materials from the coaching institutes.
