How Many Attempts in SBI Clerk: State Bank of India (SBI) releases SBI Clerk notification to fill up vacancies to the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales). SBI prescribes the eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk in terms of age limit, educational qualification, SBI Clerk number of attempts, and nationality. Candidates interested in filling SBI Clerk application form 2023 need to follow SBI Clerk eligibility laid down for the exam. Lakhs of candidates apply for SBI Clerk exam every year. How Many Attempts in SBI Clerk?

State Bank of India does not imply any restrictions on candidates for the number of attempts in SBI Clerk. Any graduate candidate between 20 and 28 years can apply for the exam. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the upper age limit as per the government rules. Candidates having an integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate can also apply for the exam. Candidates who are in their final year/semester of graduation can apply provisionally. They need to produce proof of having passed the examination on or before the joining date. SBI Clerk notification is released once a year and candidates can apply online for the exam.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk eligibility criteria?

A:

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates should check the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The category-wise relaxation given to candidates is given below.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk Eligibility?

A:

SBI Clerk criteria:- A candidate who is aspiring to apply for the SBI Clerk exam must be an Indian citizen. Candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements to apply for the SBI Clerk Prelims examination. 1.Prospective candidates must have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government. They must make sure the passing certificate shows the date the relevant degree was earned. 2.Candidates who have an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing of the IDD is as per the guidelines given in the notification. 3.Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination  4.As per the SBI Clerk qualification criteria, the candidates need to mandatorily indicate the percentage theyve obtained in the Graduation degree and calculate it to the nearest two decimals in the online application form. 5.For Matriculate Ex-servicemen, prospective applicants should have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after completing at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union. Age limit:- Not below 20 years and not above 28 years i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2002 (both days inclusive). The details regarding the age limit and the relaxation in upper age are clearly given in the official notification. Candidates must go through the notification in detail and check the eligibility criteria. Relaxation is given to the various categories for the SBI Clerk exam. SC/ST - 5yeras OBC 3 years PWD (Gen/EWS) 10 years PWD(ST/ST) 15 years PWS(OBC) 13 years Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen - The actual period of service rendered in defense services + 3 years, (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to max. age of 50 years Widows, Divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not remarried - 7 years (subject to maximum age limit of 35 years for General/ EWS, 38 years for OBC & 40 years for SC/ST candidates) Note: 1.Candidates who seek age relaxation are required to submit copies of the necessary certificate at the time of admission.

Q:   How is SBI Clerk qualifying marks determined?

A:
The qualifying marks are estimated based on the following factors: Total number of candidates who appear in the SBI Clerk exam Total number of vacancies available Difficulty level of the exam Reservation system There are no sectional cut off marks in the exam. Candidates are only required to secure the overall cut off marks as per their categories in the exam. The cut off marks for the prelims exam are decided out of 100 marks whereas the cut off marks for the mains exam are decided based on the 200 marks. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are selected for the next round of the recruitment process. SBI Clerk cut off marks are the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam.

Though there is no limit on the number of attempts, candidates need to meet SBI Clerk eligibility criteria laid down by the examination authority. Candidates who will not meet the eligibility parameters will be rejected from the recruitment process.

Q:   Can SBI Clerk apply for SBI PO?

A:

Yes, SBI Clerk can apply for SBI PO exam. However, to apply for SBI Clerk exam, candidates need to take permission from the employer. They are also required to provide NOC of the employer. Upon selection, candidates need to resign from the Clerical cadre post and join afresh as PO. No increment will be considered that is your clerical service won't be counted. Candidates applying for the SBI PO post, need to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for the exam. To apply for SBI PO, candidates need to have graduation degree from a recognised university. The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 30 years. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they need to provide the required certificate related to the educational qualification. The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises and interview.

Q:   What are the extra benefits that an SBI Clerk gets other than the salary?

A:
The salary of SBI clerks includes additional pay and allowances. In addition to their monthly salary, SBI clerks also receive the following benefits: 1. A bank contribution each month to their Provident Fund 2. SBI provides monthly fuel, entertainment, and newspaper grants to its clerks. 3. They have access to medical benefits like 100% reimbursement for self-treatment in hospitals. 4. SBI employees are eligible for loans with a reduced interest rate under the staff loan programme. 5. The SBI clerks also get the leave fare concession for their travel to their hometowns.

Q:   Can SBI Clerk become SBI PO?

A:

SBI Clerk get more opportunities to become a Probationary Officer compared to other banks. The main reason is the fast-track promotion process in SBI. Candidates who are selected for the Clerk position in SBI will be on probation for at least six months. However, it may be extended based on the performance of a candidate.
SBI conducts an internal exam every two years for those who are aspiring for career growth. A Clerk can take the internal exam only after the three years of service in the bank. Candidates who clears the internal exam become a Trainee Officer (TO) for a period of two years. After the completion of two years of the probation period, they are recruited as Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) Cadre. Candidates who completes six years of service or 12 years of service as a Clerk are also promoted to the next position, a Junior Manager Grade Scale (JMGS-I) Officer. However, the pay scale will be almost equal to that of the PO.

Q:   Are marks of SBI Clerk prelims exam counted?

A:
No, the marks of SBI Clerk prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for the language proficiency test. The prelims exam comprises three sections-Quant, Reasoning and English Language. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks decided by the examination authority as per their categories in the prelims exam. Candidates securing equal to or more than the qualifying marks are called for the mains exam. There are no sectional cutoffs in the SBI Clerk exam.

Q:   Can an SBI Clerk become a manager?

A:
Yes, an SBI Clerk can become a manager. The State Bank of India offers many opportunities for junior associates (clerk) to advance in a banking career. Prior to being qualified for a promotion based on merit, you must finish a required service period as a junior associate. You can become a manager in the following ways: 1. Become a trainee officer after qualifying for an internal examination. This option is available after three years and is a reasonably challenging route. After getting upgraded to the TO post, you can advance to the post of manager at a later stage. 2. Become a Junior Manager Grade Officer Scale-I by passing an internal exam after six years of service. You can rise to the post of assistant general manager or higher. 3. After six years of service, you can apply for the OJM internal exam to get promoted to officer rank under the fast track promotion channel. Under the normal promotion channel, you need to have completed 12 years of service to be considered for officer promotion.

  • Select the 'Click Here for New Registration' tab
  • Fill in details such as name, mobile number, email ID, etc
  • Registration number and password are generated
  • Upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature
  • Enter personal details, work experience, educational qualification, etc.
  • Preview the SBI Clerk application form and submit the details
  • Candidates need to pay the registration fees
  • Take a printout of the application form and e-receipt
