State Bank of India (SBI) conducted SBI Clerk 2024 exam analysis on February 25, 2024 across various cities spread throughout the country. The mains exam was conducted for candidates who qualified the prelims exam. According to students who appeared in the SBI Clerk 2024 exam, the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate to difficult. The GA and Quant papers were tough. The Reasoning section was average in terms of difficulty level. The English Language section was easy. Questions in GA were asked based on the Current Affairs of December 2023 and January 2024. Questions were related to the RBI policies.

The English section appears in both prelims and Mains exams of SBI Clerk. Questions in English Language section of SBI Clerk exam are asked from Reading Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Rearrangement, Cloze Test, Vocabulary, etc. Candidates need to be thorough with the grammar and vocabularly inorder to ace the exam. Q:   What is the difference between the level of the IBPS Clerk and the SBI Clerk paper pattern?

IBPS Clerk and SBI Clerk exam patterns are more or less same. The prelims exam pattern for both the exams comprises Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude. The Mains exam pattern for the both the exams comprises Reasoning, English Quantitative Aptitude. General Awareness and Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100 whereas the Mains exam carries 200 marks. The duration of the prelims exam is 60 minutes whereas the Mains exam is held for 2 Hours 40 minutes. The level of SBI Clerk is bit difficult than the IBPS Clerk exam. SBI Clerk exam is conducted for recruitment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales). IBPS Clerk exam is conducted for recruitment to the post of Clerks in the public sector banks of India.

SBI Clerk mains exam pattern consists of four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. A total of 190 questions are asked in the exam. The total marks for the test are 200. The duration of the test was 2 hours 40 minutes with sectional timings. Q:   What is the revised pay scale of SBI Clerk?

The revised payscale of SBI Clerk is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Earlier, the payscale of SBI Clerk was INR 11765-655/ 3-13730-815/ 3-16175-980/ 4-20095-1145/7-28110-2120/ 1-30230-1310/1-31450. The starting basic pay was INR 13,075 (INR 11765 with two advance increments admissible to graduates).

Q:   What is SBI Clerk negative marking?

A:
There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme. Candidates should attempt maximum number of questions to secure the desired score in the exam.

Q:   Is pattern of questions different from state to state in SBI Clerk exam?

A:
No, SBI follows a similar SBI Clerk exam pattern for different states. SBI Clerk exam pattern is such that it comprises prelims exam, Mains exam and language proficiency test. The prelims and Mains exams are conducted online. The prelims exam carries three sections-English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The Mains exam is conducted for the qualified candidates of the prelims exam. The Mains exam carries four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for language proficiency. It is mandatory to clear the language proficiency test.

Ajit Sharma: The overall difficulty level of the mains paper was tough compared to IBPS Clerk mains paper. The toughest section was GA and questions were asked from Banking Awareness like number of small finance banks. The Quant section was moderate to difficult. The Reasoning section was doable.

Shristi Singh: The overall difficulty level of the mains exam was moderate. From Current Affairs, questions were asked from December 2023 and January 2024 events. The Reasoning section was moderate, with maximum questions from Critical Reasoning, Puzzles, etc. The Quant section was moderate to difficult and questions were asked from DI.

Deepak Kumar: The questions asked in GA section were very in-depth. The Current Affairs questions were mainly based on the December 2023 and January 2024 events. Mainly questions were asked from Banking Awareness. The Quant section was doable. The Reasoning section was not tough and questions were asked from Puzzles, Critical Reasoning, etc.
