State Bank of India (SBI) is conducting the prelims exam of SBI Clerk 2024. The English section appears in both prelims and Mains exams of SBI Clerk. IBPS Clerk and SBI Clerk exam patterns are more or less same. The prelims exam pattern for both the exams comprises Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude. The Mains exam pattern for the both the exams comprises Reasoning, English Quantitative Aptitude. General Awareness and Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100 whereas the Mains exam carries 200 marks. The duration of the prelims exam is 60 minutes whereas the Mains exam is held for 2 Hours 40 minutes. The level of SBI Clerk is bit difficult than the IBPS Clerk exam. SBI Clerk exam is conducted for recruitment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales). IBPS Clerk exam is conducted for recruitment to the post of Clerks in the public sector banks of India.

Anju Goel said, “The English Language section was easy. However, the passage asked in the exam was difficult. The Passage was based on self-help group. In Maths, mostly questions were asked from Approximation, Arithmetic, etc. In Reasoning, questions were asked from various topics such as Puzzles, Syllogism, etc.”

A:

SBI Clerk prelims exam comprises three sections- English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The test paper carries a total of 100 questions. The revised payscale of SBI Clerk is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Earlier, the payscale of SBI Clerk was INR 11765-655/ 3-13730-815/ 3-16175-980/ 4-20095-1145/7-28110-2120/ 1-30230-1310/1-31450. The starting basic pay was INR 13,075 (INR 11765 with two advance increments admissible to graduates).

Q:   What is SBI Clerk negative marking?

A:
There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme. Candidates should attempt maximum number of questions to secure the desired score in the exam.

No, SBI follows a similar SBI Clerk exam pattern for different states. SBI Clerk exam pattern is such that it comprises prelims exam, Mains exam and language proficiency test. The prelims and Mains exams are conducted online. The prelims exam carries three sections-English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The Mains exam is conducted for the qualified candidates of the prelims exam. The Mains exam carries four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for language proficiency. It is mandatory to clear the language proficiency test.

Kritika Bhatt said, “The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. In Quant, questions were asked from Arithmetic, Wrong Number Series, Simplification, DI, etc. In Reasoning section, questions were asked from Puzzles, Syllogism, Missing Word Series.”

Shalini said, “The difficulty level of the exam was moderate. The Reasoning section was time-consuming. The English and Quant sections were easy.”

Kavita said, “The difficulty level of paper held in shift 1 was easy to moderate. The Maths section was difficult. The Reasoning and English sections were easy.”
