TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit

The Department of Education, Government of Telangana has not released any TSTET 2024 Age Limit for TSTET 2024 exam. However, candidates should be 18 years old to apply for the TSTET 2024 exam

Q:   Will I get a Teacher job after clearing the TSTET exam?

A:

Clearing the TSTET exam does not guarantee recruitment as a teacher in Telangana. The TSTET exam is a qualifying exam that assesses the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in Telangana. Candidates who pass the TSTET exam become eligible to apply for teaching positions in various government and private schools in Telangana.

However, being eligible for teaching positions does not guarantee recruitment. Candidates have to apply for teaching positions separately, and the recruitment process is conducted by the respective recruiting authorities. The selection process typically involves a written exam, an interview, and sometimes a demonstration of teaching skills. The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in these stages and the availability of vacancies.

Therefore, clearing the TSTET exam is the first step towards becoming a teacher in Telangana, but it is not the only step. Candidates have to apply for teaching positions separately and go through the recruitment process to get recruited as a teacher.

Q:   Who is exempted from the TSTET exam?

A:

There are certain categories of candidates who are exempted from the Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) exam. These include:

  1. Candidates who have already qualified the TSTET in previous years and possess a valid TSTET certificate.
  2. Candidates who have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or any other equivalent national-level teacher eligibility test conducted by the Central Government.
  3. Candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) from any recognized institution, as per the eligibility criteria specified by the conducting authority.
  4. Candidates who have completed a teacher education program recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) are also exempted.

It is important to note that candidates who are exempted from the TSTET exam still need to meet the other eligibility criteria such as age limit, educational qualification, and other requirements specified by the Telangana State government.

Q:   Can I get a teaching job after passing the TSTET exam?

A:

Qualifying in the TSTET (Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test) exam is a mandatory requirement for candidates who wish to apply for teaching jobs in schools in Telangana. However, passing the TSTET exam does not guarantee a teaching job in Telangana.

After qualifying in the TSTET exam, candidates need to fulfill other eligibility criteria, such as educational qualifications, age limit, and language proficiency, and go through the recruitment process to get a teaching job in Telangana. The recruitment process usually involves a written exam, an interview, and document verification.

The number of teaching vacancies in schools in Telangana may vary from year to year, and the competition for teaching jobs can be high. Therefore, it's important for candidates to prepare well and keep themselves updated on the latest recruitment notifications to increase their chances of getting a teaching job.

Q:   How many times can a candidate apply for the TSTET exam?

A:

There is no specific limit on the number of times a candidate can apply for the TSTET (Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test) exam. As long as a candidate meets the eligibility criteria, they can apply for the TSTET exam in any cycle.

Candidates who have completed their graduation with a B.Ed or D.Ed degree are eligible to apply for the TSTET exam. The exam is conducted twice a year, and candidates can apply for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 or either one of them, depending on their eligibility and preference.

Q:   What are the minimum qualifying marks for the TSTET?

A:

The minimum qualifying marks for the TSTET (Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test) exam are as follows:

  • General Category Candidates: Candidates belonging to the general category must secure a minimum of 60% marks to qualify for the TSTET exam.
  • SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates: Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PH category must secure a minimum of 50% marks to qualify for the TSTET exam.

It is important to note that securing the minimum qualifying marks in the TSTET exam does not guarantee selection for teaching positions in government schools in Telangana. The selection process also takes into account other factors such as the number of vacancies, the candidate's performance in the TSTET exam, and other eligibility criteria.

Candidates who qualify for the TSTET exam will be issued a TSTET certificate, which is valid for lifetime. The TSTET certificate is an essential requirement for candidates who wish to apply for teaching positions in government schools in Telangana.
