Really proud to be a part of Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: Around 80% of students were placed last year. The highest package of the course went up to 16 LPA, the lowest package was 4 LPA and the average package was 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Connect Hero, Accenture, Genpact, Eli Lily, and Landmark. 44% of students also received internships. The top roles offered are data analyst, HR analyst, consulting, and data scientist.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in BHU. The classrooms are big and well ventilated. We have the facility of Wi-Fi in the hostel and on campus. We have a department library as well as a central library, which is huge. Hostels are really good and the rooms are big enough, plus the food is good. Games facilities are available in the hostel and university. We have a gym facility as well.
Faculty: Here, the professors are really good; they are all highly qualified and have around 10–20 years of experience in teaching. My course is very interesting to study, plus the teachers make it more interesting with their teaching skills. Semester exams are a bit tough here but if you study well, you will make it through them.
Other: I chose this course because it is one of the most upcoming subjects, and the placement opportunities are amazing here. Fest is organized at IIT BHU, where we can take part as well and we have our own fest and events as well faculty-wise. We have a grand festive celebration.

It is good in studies, teaching and everything.
Placements: Above 50% students have been placed by the college. The highest package ranges from 30-40 lakh and the lowest package is 7 lakh. Many of the companies like Accenture, Deloitte, etc. visit here. Above 70% students have got internships in noted companies. Top role offered by the companies is of data analyst.
Infrastructure: We have good infrastructure with AC classrooms. Labs are very comfortable with one chair in each room. Wi-Fi of BHU is too good. We can run many programs simultaneously with high-speed. Hostels are also very good with 2 members in each room. Food is also great.
Faculty: Faculty of BHU is well trained and educated. Nature of the professors is also good. There will be tests every week in which the teachers see how well a student is listening in classes. Examinations are very good. Students who concentrate on their studies could easily get a good score.

I am absolutely satisfied because of all infrastructure and facilities available here.
Placements: The placement records of M.Sc in statistics course of BHU are average during the pass out year of 2021. Approximately 46% of the students got placed in top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Eli Lilly, Genpact, JSS Medical Research, Ipsos (MMA), Wipro, Nielsen, Kantar and Parexel with the highest salary package of 10 LPA, lowest salary package of 4 LPA and average salary package of 7.5 LPA. Data analyst, bio-statistician, SAS programmer and project engineer are the top roles offered by these MNCs. Most of these companies like Eli Lilly, JSS Medical Research and Parexel had offered internships to approximately 15% of students. Thereafter, the job roles are offered, which are mentioned above.
Infrastructure: The overall standard and quality of facilities and infrastructure available for this course/department are average. Wi-Fi is available at every place of BHU with high-speed internet for students, employees and teachers. Laboratories are well-equipped, and the lab attendants are very helpful and cooperative in nature. A separate desktop is assigned to every student of the course for practical works. Traditional classrooms are available during my tenure here. A separate departmental library is also available, which consists of all relevant books for this course.
Faculty: All the assistant and associate professors and professors are very helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable here. The teaching quality of some teachers is excellent, while for others, it is better. The course curriculum includes all relevant papers that help students almost in all fields like corporate sector, research or any government jobs like ISS, UPSC (statistics as optional), SSC, CGL, RBI Grade-B and others. As far as the difficulty level of semester exams is concerned, it is not very hard to achieve at least 7 or 8 CGPA. To pass this course, you must achieve at least 4 CGPA, i.e., approximately 36% of marks in total.
Other: There is no specific reason for me to choose this course. In my bachelor, I had been allotted a seat in statistics Honours in BHU, so I decided to pursue my masters in statistics. The increasing demand for statistics at present is the best thing about this course. Extra activities organised in BHU include many events and fests like Aakansha (science fest), workshops, Intro, freshers, farewell and others every year. Basant Panchami, Shivratri, Shri Krishna Janmashtami and other festivals like Holi, Diwali, etc., are also celebrated with enthusiasm.
