BHU BTech course of UG level is four-year long. The mode of study is full-time. Candidates wanting to apply for BHU BTech course admission need to take the CUET exam. Banaras Hindu University BTech is offered in different specialisations. It is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. BHU BTech admission is done as per CUET exam scores. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can go to the CUET website to apply.

BHU BTech Admission Dates 2025
Since last year, the university has been selecting candidates to the UG course based on merit in CUET-UG. Thus, the students should stay updated with the CUET-UG dates for BHU. Banaras Hindu University cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to UG and PG courses. As per round 4 of the CUET UG BHU cut off 2025, the cutoff scores ranged between 94 and 628.46 for the B.Sc. (Hons) in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology for the General category All India quota candidates. Banaras Hindu University has seat reservation of SC, ST, OBC, and other such category candidates. Additionally, seats are reserved for females, physically challenged, visually impaired, etc., candidates as well. Some key pointers related to BHU reservation policy are as follows:
- The university reserves 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, respectively for each course.
- 27% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the OBC category (excluding under creamy layer); not applicable for all courses.
- 3% of seats are reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates. Wherein, 1% is for each category: Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, and Orthopaedically Handicapped.
- 15% of seats are for only female candidates out of the total seat intake for M.P.Ed. course. If the seats are left vacant, male candidates are allotted seats based on merit.
- 15% of the supernumerary seats in all the courses are for the sons/daughters (including married daughters) of permanent employees (including those on probation) of BHU currently in service.
- There are also supernumerary paid seats available (not exceeding 15% of the total number of seats) for some courses (not available for Special Courses)
- About 15% of supernumerary seats are for Foreign nationals, out of which 5% of seats shall be filled up by children of NRIs and 5% by children of Indian workers in Gulf and South Asian Countries

No, there is no provision for additional benfits to the students who are residents of Varanasi. However, the university may admit students under Employee Quota. Yes, the BHU CUET counselling process for both UG and PG courses is carried out in online mode. Candidates have to visit the BHU admission portal to register for the counselling process. The form filling, document upload, and fee payment also has to be done in online mode. Fee payment can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking.
BHU offers entrance-based admissions to all its UG and PG courses. To get admission to any UG and PG courses, it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams. The table provides an overview of the closing ranks for various courses offered by BHU compared to the 2024 Last Round cutoff for the different courses, specially for General AI category candidates:
BHU accepts CUET-UG scores for admission to several UG courses. Candidates seeking admission to BHU must apply online to register themselves. Follow the step-wise admission process as given below:
- The BHU application process is conducted in online mode through the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in). The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender.
- Candidates need to download the admit card by visiting the official website of CUET 2025 and clicking on 'Download CUET Admit Card'.
- After the declaration of the CUET result, students seeking admission to BHU UG courses are required to apply online for CUET-UG Counselling on the BHU UG admission portal.
- Further, candidates are required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course (s). After that, the final seat allotment will be done by BHU.
Banaras Hindu University course admissions is entrance-based for most of the programmes. Thus, one-year dropper student can apply for the desired course, however, qualifying the respective entrance is the a must. Apart from this, aspirant should meet the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements as well.
Moreover, the student can be asked to submit an application regarding the reason for drop out. Sometimes even this is not required.
BHU CUET cutoff 2025 was published for admission to various UG-level courses in the form of scores. For the General AI category, the last round cutoff varied from 34.58 to 628.46. Hence, students should attain a score that is above 34.58 to be able to secure a seat at BHU.
Note: This is the cutoff for the General AI category; other categories will have different cutoffs accordingly.
BHU AYUSH cutoff 2025 was released for admission to various All India categories based on the AYUSH counselling results. For the General AI category, the last round cutoff was 30748. To know the last round cutoff for other categories, see the table below.

BHU offers a two-year full-time MSc course via its IIT BHU college. The institute accepts the IIT JAM entrance exam scores, followed by its counselling rounds for admission. During the last round, the IIT BHU JAM cutoff 2025 varied between 325 and 409 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. BHU MDS cutoff 2025 was released for all rounds and categories belonging to the All India quota. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 2 to 34.
On the other hand, for the OBC AI category, the round 1 cutoff was 14, which later increased to 137 in the last round. Refer to the table below to know the cutoff for all other categories.

No, you can not take direct admission into the UG and PG courses offered by Faculty of Law, BHU. The college acceptes admission only on the basis of score and rank obtained in CUET UG and CUET PG respectively.
