Our college has great faculty, good course structure and great placements.
Placements: In our college, lot of core recruiters visit for placements like Berger Paints, Haldia Petrochemicals, Technip, Polyrub Cooper, Wacker, etc. There is a dedicated placement cell and students play supporting roles. If you want to switch streams, you can sit for IT companies as well.
Infrastructure: Our college, classrooms are air-conditioned and the campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Laboratories are well equipped. Hostels are good with spacious rooms, clean washrooms and mess food. They are very cheap but of really good quality and taste. There is an open-air stage and ground for events.
Faculty: The curriculum is very well structured with frequent revisions to the syllabus and augmented with lectures from industry professionals. Sufficient amount of focus is given to practical classes. The examination pattern is quite effective at testing the ability of students.

There are good placements, good infrastructure and nice experience.
Placements: Placements in the chemical engineering department are decent. In 2019, about 31 students out of 38 students were placed in different organisations. Many students had attended GATE exam and joined various PSUs. The average salary package offered here is approximately 6.24 LPA as per NIRF. Companies like Haldia Petrochemicals, Asian Paints, Technip, etc., visit here for recruitment.
Infrastructure: Our campus is more than 100 years old, and the infrastructure is not up to the mark. The campus is not very huge, but you will get all the basic facilities here. Labs are well-equipped with modern instruments, and there is a Wi-Fi facility on the campus. The fee of the hostel is only Rs. 1,800 per year.
Faculty: Most of the professors here are PhD holders from different IITs and foreign universities. They are very friendly and are always ready to solve your doubts. The course is well updated, and there are internships and industrial training after even semesters. Many students have qualified GATE and GRE exams and are pursuing higher studies.
Other: There are many scholarships like Ramcharan Mitra scholarships, etc., which students can get during their course. Fests are organised every year, and there is also a departmental reunion.

Not happy with the placements and faculty, otherwise, it was a beautiful stay in my college.
Placements: Out of 40 students, 24 students were placed. The companies that came are ITC, Haldia Petrochemical, Berger Paints, and Woods. The average package is 3.6 LPA. Usually, the jobs were in process engineering or as onsite engineers. Most students got internships in IOCL, IFFCO, Berger Paints, and HPCL.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available on the campus. Labs are fully equipped with equipment, and classrooms have AC and projectors. The library has every book and journal that is available. Hostels are available, and canteen food is also okay and cheap. Medical facilities are available and free of cost for students.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly overqualified and usually arrogant. The teaching quality is okay but mostly based on notes. The curriculum is a bit outdated and not on par with current industry knowledge. Semester exams are usually easy, and the pass percentage is approximately 75%. The students are usually industry-ready as they are geniuses and not due to faculty.
Other: I chose this course and college as it was near my home and also I wanted to study chemical engineering. The curriculum and placement should be better. There is no social life, and no fests or events are held currently.

Our college has good placements, curriculum and faculty members.
Placements: Students can appear in the placement season after the 6th semester. JK Tyres, Colgate, Haldia Petrochemicals, Burger Paints and Asian Paints are recruiters here. The average salary package offered is 5 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 12 LPA. Placements are rapidly growing here day by day.
Infrastructure: It is a government institute, so it doesn't have proper infrastructure. Hostel facilities and infrastructure are quite good here. ROI is also good, so it does not create any problem. As our department is one of the richest and the oldest, it is famous in the industry.
Faculty: Teachers here are well-qualified. Most of the teachers are from IITs, NITs and also from other foreign universities. Teaching staff members are good here. Their quality of teaching is good. After 2015, CU updated its syllabus, so it is more industry-focused now.
Other: University of Calcutta is rapidly growing nowadays, in terms of placements as a full-time TPO was hired in 2019.

Infrastructure is average, but the overall experience is great.
Placements: My batch has not yet got into the process of placements. Most of our seniors got job offers. Companies like Technip visited our campus for placements. Many of the students didn't attend the interview as they had cracked CAT and other exams. One of our well known senior got placed in Jacob Private Ltd with a salary of Rs. 24,000 per month.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility at our college. Classrooms are small, and air-conditioners don't work properly. However, they are equipped with projectors. The library is excellent and equipped with many books. Laboratories have old instruments, but they work fine. Games and sports are to be organised by the students and the student union. Hostel rooms are crowded, but they are located near to the college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, but not efficient. They always a lag in completing the syllabus. Teaching methods are quite up to the mark with digital projectors and online notes sharing. The course curriculum is very vast and up to date except for the teaching of Fortran.
Other: Events like seminars, competitions, tournaments, reunion and farewells are conducted here. Fests are not usually conducted here.
