College life is something different and I guess you will enjoy all of it here.
Placements: Various companies come to college; most of them are polymer-based companies. JK, MRF, CEAT, RELIANCE TYERS, CREST and many other MNCs visit for campus placement and offer internships. And with the help of professors, one can embrace much more companies than one looks for.
Infrastructure: With Rs 30k, you are in one of the best places in West Bengal to study with fewer issues. The lab is well equipped but lacks staff. Sorry to say but due to the lack of a recruitment process by the government, such a phase is not yet there. Professors are very cooperative and give us all kinds of aid and positive support, which in general breaks all such disgrace.
Faculty: As it is Calcutta University, you are bound to do the daily class, but in the case of Polymer, the scene is different. Also, in a government college, you will find many fellows of different breeds; hence, somehow your time will pass in excitement.
Other: A very new, aspiring and up-and-coming course. Also, the fact that it uses chemicals to create a technical degree makes it more unique. The size of the department might be small but it has great networking and net worth.
