Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Batch of 2028

Moderate experience of college.
Placements: Recently, I have been studying, so I don't know about the placement. But I heard that the placement is not that good. People in Computer Science get chances for placements on campus. I don't know about other departments. After all, it's a general degree college, so we can't expect that good of placements at all.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel, but there is a canteen facility where the price of food is very favorable. Momos, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and french fries are available in the canteen. A gym center is going to open soon, and the sports center is under construction.
Faculty: The faculty members are very friendly and support us whenever we need them. The HOD of our department is a great motivator for students. They are very knowledgeable. Whenever we get stuck in any subject, they are always ready to help us, no matter the time. However, teachers need to improve their teaching skills so that we can learn things more quickly. Maths is not an easy subject, so many students get back in papers, but if they study and follow the teacher carefully, they will pass.
Other: There are not many fests held here. Scholarships are provided. The campus is under construction. The auditorium is ready, and sports facilities and the gym center are still under construction. There are lift facilities for students and teachers. There is also a library (e-books are available too). The location of the college is very good (metro, bus, cars, and everything are available). However, we expect farewell and freshers from our college, but we mostly don’t get them.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology - Batch of 2025

Our college is a popular college in this locality.
Placements: 80 percent of students are placed in this course. All types of Science students are read in this course. The average package offered in this course. All types of students who want to go with this subject can definitely take admission in our college.
Infrastructure: The library of our college is very nice, with various collections of books and journals present in the library. In our classrooms, nice classes are held, and the labs are full of equipment. The stored animals and plants are in good condition, and the lab is very beautiful.
Faculty: Our teachers are very supportive and kind to students, and their technique of coaching is awesome. The semester exams are somewhat difficult. The pass percentage of the exam is 14 out of 50. The exam is done after admission, starting with internal exams and ending with external exams.
Other: Our college premises are nice and full of decorations with plants, which are eco-friendly.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry - Batch of 2026

Good faculty but very bad placement procedure.
Placements: Our college lacks a proper placement cell and procedure. Sometimes, a few job fairs are organized by our college, but only a few of our students are able to get any placement offer from there. The highest salary you can expect is 2 to 2.5 LPA. It is better to apply for off-campus jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not so great. The building is old and dusty. The classrooms are small and clumsy. Labs are there, but they lack a few important chemicals. We don't have a library on our campus. There is no hostel in our college, but we have a decent canteen behind our college.
Faculty: The curriculum of our course is really good as it follows the latest syllabus of Calcutta University. The faculty members are also good, but sometimes they are rude to the students. The semester exams in our college are not too hard, but you need to study thoroughly.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany - Batch of 2025
Offered by Maulana Azad College

Excellent faculty, good placements, and an ideal for botany aspirants.
Placements: Around 60% of students from my batch are placed in various companies. The highest salary package offered by Biocon is 6.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Maulana Azad College, Kolkata, provides excellent facilities and infrastructure for its students. For the Botany department, the facilities include well-equipped laboratories with modern instruments and equipment. Classrooms are spacious with smartboards and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is a vast library with a wide collection of books, journals, and e-resources. We also have a botanical garden for practical studies and research.Hostel facilities are available including clean and spacious rooms with attached bathrooms. There is a hygienic mess and canteen facilities with a variety of food options. Medical facilities are available, with a college hospital and a tie-up with nearby hospitals. There are sports and games facilities, including a playground, gymnasium, and indoor games room.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. Their teaching quality is excellent. Curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Pass percentage is around 89-90%. Overall, a well-rounded Botany course prepares students for careers and higher studies.
Other: I chose Botany because of my fascination with plants and their importance in our ecosystem. I wanted to explore the intricacies of plant biology and contribute to the field of botanical research. The best things about my course are the hands-on experience in laboratories, the opportunity to work on research projects, and the expertise of the faculty members. Scope for Improvement: I wish there were more industrial collaborations and internship opportunities to provide students with practical experience in the field. Additionally, updating the curriculum to include recent advancements in plant biotechnology and genomics would enhance the course.

Review of Syamaprasad College.
Placements: In my course, many opportunities are provided by the college. As per the previous records 4 out of 10 students get placements. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Most IT companies visit the campus.
Infrastructure: I'm not in the hostel as I'm a day scholar but many hostels are available near the college premises. Students say that it is good, tidy, and affordable. As computer science department works in day section we got to use the annex building. There are 13-14 classes available and 5-6 labs are available. Mostly too small which can't take more than 30 students at a time. But there are 2-3 classrooms which are big enough to take 80-100 students at a time.
Faculty: As the new education system is introduced. There is a lack of book availability and lack of hardware and software requirements. But still, faculty members are managing in a very smooth way. But the new course is so good that it totally makes students industry-ready and all.

I will not say it's very good or very bad, it's average.
Placements: Percentage of placement is very very low. We even don't know that anyone of our seniors get placement. As no placement, we don't know about any top recruitment company. Even we don't know anything that any internship was done for us. About placement there is not a good hope.
Infrastructure: I don't take hostel, so I don't know, but our infrastructure of department is average. Machines are useful but laboratory lacks proper ventilation. Canteen facility in college is not good. Sports and gaming was organised. Students also participated on the events.
Faculty: Teachers are average. Some are very good, sincere but others are very casual. Regular classes was not taken properly. There is zero responsibility to complete syllabus. We actually have 5% theory classes. Practical classes are taken carefully but sometimes delay was also seen. There is no regular classes but question of semester is too much difficult.
