RRB NTPC exam dates 2020 will be announced soon. The exam has been delayed since one year as the exam conducting agency are yet to be finalized. The General Intelligence and Reasoning assess a candidate’s ability to think logically. This section is considered to be one of the scoring sections. Questions in this section might be tricky, therefore, candidates must prepare this section well. RRB NTPC General Intelligence and Reasoning section carries 30 marks. All questions will be objective type comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). In this article, we have discussed how to prepare for RRB NTPC General Intelligence and Reasoning.

How to prepare for RRB NTPC General Intelligence and Reasoning?

Here are a few tips and tricks to prepare for RRB NTPC:

  • To solve questions in this section, candidates must sharpen their logical and analytical skills.
  • Candidates must focus on both verbal and non-verbal Reasoning.
  • Practice as much previous years’ question paper as you can. This will help you in understanding the level of questions and their difficulty level.
  • Candidates must follow a proper strategy and time-table for all topics.
  • Candidates must attempt sectional and full-length mock tests. This will help them improve their speed and accuracy.
  • Mock tests will also help candidates to access their performance in the exam.
  • Devise a proper strategy to solve questions from RRB NTPC General Intelligence and Reasoning.

Topic-wise preparation tips for General Intelligence and Reasoning

Coding-Decoding: Coding-Decoding questions assess a candidate’s ability to decode the coding languages. Questions will be framed such as NAME is written as GFDN then MEAN is written as. Students are required to decode the logic behind this code to answer the question.

Arrangement: Questions are based on Seating Arrangements such as linear arrangement, circular arrangement, graphical arrangement, tabular arrangement, etc. The questions cover topics such as Blood relations, Ranking, Puzzles, and Direction Sense.

Logic-based: This is syllogism questions. Candidates need to draw Venn Diagrams to answer those questions.

Non-verbal: This section covers topics such as Pictorial Analogies, Symbol series, symbolic operations, numeric patterns, spatial relations, space visualizations, Spatial Reasoning, mirror image, and space image.
