General Awareness

This section is vast to cover, however, it is also one of the high scoring sections in the RRB exam. As the questions are factual, you need to memorise important topics such as History, Geography, and Current Affairs. For Science, Economics and Polity, you should go through the basics from NCERT books

Mathematics

For Mathematics, you need to prepare for topics as per the trends of previous years’ papers. Apart from practicing the chapters thoroughly, learn to know the shortcut tricks that will help you to solve the sums. You need to be very thorough with formulae, tables, squares, cubes, square roots, cube roots. Apart from this, you can refer to NCERT books to clear the basic concepts.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

You must give time to practice. Coding-Decoding, Puzzles are the most difficult topics in this section. For puzzles, you can follow books such as A Modern Approach to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal, New Approach to Reasoning Verbal, Non-Verbal and Analytical by BS Sijwali and Indu Sijwali. To perform well in this section, you should solve mock tests.

Candidates can check below few general tips and tricks to crack RRB NTPC 2022 exam:

  • Go through all the RRB NTPC previous years’ question papers. Analyse yourself where you stand in terms of preparation
  • There are certain questions that are sure shot asked in the exam. Identify those topics based on the previous years’ question papers trend. Prepare the topics thorough before appearing in the exam
  • Get all the Mathematical formulae at your fingertips
  • Take practice or mock tests to improve speed and accuracy
  • Do not hurry to complete the uncovered portions. This is the time to strengthen the topics that you have already learned
  • Brush up everything you have studied before the exam
  • Try to attempt questions with accuracy in the exam. Remember there is negative marking. Solving 70-80% questions with 100% accuracy is better than solving 100% questions with 70-80 per cent accuracy
  • Do not attempt questions that you are not sure of
  • Do not spend much time in one section
