RRB NTPC eligibility criteria

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) prescribe RRB NTPC eligibility criteria in terms of nationality, age limit, educational qualification and physical standards. Candidates have to mandatorily fulfil the eligibility criteria as prescribed in the notification inorder to appear for the exam. RRB NTPC eligibility is different for graduate and undergraduate posts. For undergraduate posts, the RRB NTPC age limit is 18 to 30 years. The age limit for graduate-level posts is 18 to 33 years. RRB NTPC educational qualification prescribed for undergraduate posts is Class 12 pass. Candidates applying for graduate-level posts should be a graduate from a recognized university. Besides, the age limit and educational qualification, candidates are also required to satisfy the post-wise medical standards prescribed for RRB NTPC exam.

RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts such as Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. RRB NTPC eligibility criteria is based on the following factors:

RRB NTPC Nationality 2023

Candidates need to satisfy the following RRB NTPC nationality to be eligible for the exam:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Bhutan or Nepal
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention of permanently settling in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with an intention to permanently settle in India.

RRB NTPC Age Limit

There are two levels in RRB NTPC exam-undergraduate or 12th standard and graduate level. RRB NTPC age limit for candidates applying for the undergraduate level posts should be 18 to 30 years. The age limit for graduate-level posts is 18 to 33 years. The minimum RRB NTPC age limit is 18 years. RRB NTPC age limit is given below.

Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff. The post-wise RRB NTPC visual standards is given below.

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and Must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Myopic vision

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D),

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and Must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Myopic vision

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D).
