RRB NTPC Exam Day Guidelines 2022

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released RRB NTPC exam day guidelines 2022 for CBT 2 exam along with the admit card. Candidates will be allowed to appear in the exam only on producing e-call letter, photograph, original photo ID and face mask. The exam day guidelines highlight all the required information right from the documents to be carried along, dress code, barred items in the exam hall and many more. These standard guidelines ensure uniformity and hence avoid any sort of confusion amongst students. RRB NTPC exam day guidelines specify certain do’s and don’ts that candidates must strictly follow. Candidates must be well aware of the exact set of events occurring on the exam day before the exam day actually arrives. In this article, we have explained RRB NTPC exam day guidelines.

The duration of RRB NTPC 2022 CBT will be 90 minutes for 120 questions (120 minutes for PwBD candidates taking the CBT with scribe)

Candidates should report at the RRB NTPC exam centre well in advance of the reporting time indicated on e-call letter to complete activities such Aadhaar linked Biometric Authentication of the candidates, capture of biometric (LTI) and photo, collection of documents, announcement of instructions and logging in, etc. The candidates are required to carry Aadhaar card to facilitate biometric authentication.

Q:   Will RRB NTPC exam be conducted this year?

A:

RRB NTPC is expected to be released in July-September by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). According to the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, RRB NTPC exam will be conducted every year. To apply for RRB NTPC exam, the age of candidates should be between 18 and 30 years. The age limit prescribed for graduate posts is 18 to 33 years. RRB NTPC educational qualification prescribed for undergraduate posts is Class 12 pass. RRB NTPC educational qualification prescribed for the graduate posts is graduation. RRB NTPC 2024 exam comprises various stages such as CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

RRB NTPC exam dates are yet to be announced by the RRBs. RRB NTPC exam dates highlights the important events pertaining to the exam such as the release of application form, admit card, result, answer key, exam, etc. Candidates should keep the exam dates handy so that they do not miss any event. RRB NTPC is one of the most sought-after railway exams in the country. Large number of candidates appear for the exam. The selection process comprises CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

Q:   When RRB NTPC notification 2025 was released?

A:

RRB NTPC notification 2025 was released to fill up a total of 10884 vacancies. The short notification was released on September 2, 2024.  The notification is released to select candidates for various graduate and undergraduate posts. The posts announced under RRB NTPC exam are Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master. RRB NTPC notification is released in PDF. The notification PDF comprises details such as important dates, application process, selection process, exam pattern, syllabus, exam day guidelines, etc. Candidates must read the notification carefully before applying for the exam.

Reporting Time

No candidates will be allowed inside the test centre after gate closing time for the date and shift in the RRB NTPC admit card. Candidates are advised to locate their test centre and its accessibility at least a day before the test so that they can reach the centre on time on the day of the test.

Submission of Admit Card

RRB NTPC admit card is to be submitted for verification at the time of the test. At least one original and valid photo identification card.

Valid Photo Identification

Candidates need to bring any of the following documents:

  • Voter Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Printout of E-Aadhaar
  • Driving Iicense
  • PAN Card
  • E-PAN Card printout
  • Passport
  • Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is government employee, school/college/university photo ID card
  • SSLC/HSC marksheet with photo

Banned Items

  • Banned items are electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, pager, watches, Bluetooth, calculator, metallic wears, bangles, belts, bracelets, books, papers, etc are not allowed inside the exam centre
  • Candidates should not carry pen/pencil inside the test centre
  • Pen will be provide during the exam
  • Candidates should not apply henna/Mehendi because there will be biometric capture

Language of Question Paper

Candidates can view question papers in the language opted by them at the time of filling the RRB NTPC application form and in English Language

Rough Sheets

Candidates must write their roll number and name on the rough sheets. The rough sheets have to be returned after the test.

Travel Arrangements

Candidates should make their own travel arrangements. Special Trains for CBT 2 will run across the country to ferry students to and from the exam centres. The books for these trains have started. More than 65 special trains will run for RRB NTPC candidates.

  • Visit the official websites of 21 RRBs
  • Click the link 'Login to view exam city'
  • Enter user ID and password
  • The details of the exam city will appear on the screen

Q:   What are RRB NTPC exam day guidelines?

A:

Candidates need to follow the guidelines for RRB NTPC exam:

  • Candidates should reach RRB NTPC exam centre at least an hour before the exam commences
  • They must carry all the required documents while appearing for the exam
  • Candidates should not carry any electronic gadget inside the examination hall
  • Due to COVID-19, candidates need to wear masks

Q:   How to verify the email ID and mobile number for RRB NTPC exam?

A:
On submitting the primary details in the RRB NTPC application form, OTPs are sent to the registered mobile number and email. The candidate should retrieve the OTPs from email and mobile and then enter OTPs to proceed with filling up the RRB NTPC application form. On successful OTP activation, registration number is generated and sent on the registered email ID and mobile number.

Q:   What is the tie-breaking policy of RRB NTPC?

A:

The tie-breaking policy of RRB NTPC exam is given below:

  • In case of two or more candidates secure the same marks, the merit position in RRB NTPC exam is determined based on the age criteria, older candidates are placed at higher merit
  • In case the age is the same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie

Q:   What are the important guidelines for RRB NTPC document verification?

A:

The important points related to the document verification are given below:

  • The CBT 2 exam is conducted separately for each pay level. As such, the candidates are considered in more than one pay level as per their merit and option for posts in that respective pay level
  • Candidates can only be empaneled against any one post, it is essential to publish the shortlisting for document verification in various pay levels one after the other in sequence, starting from the highest pay level of 6, so that unique candidates are shortlisted across pay levels
  • Candidates who are called for document verification for the posts in Pay level-6 have to give an undertaking that if found medically fit for the posts of pay Level-6, they forfeit the right to be considered for any other pay levels. Candidates will thus be empanelled against one post only
  • Candidates found medically unfit for the posts in Pay level-6 are considered for shortlisting to the next lower pay level posts as per their merit and medical fitness in that respective pay levels
  • Candidates finally empanelled, after medical examination, for the post in Pay level-6 is excluded in the shortlisting process out to other lower pay level posts. Each candidate needs to attend document verification and medical examination only once in normal course
  • Thereafter, the shortlisting of other lower pay levels (Pay level 5, 4, 3 & 2) is published in a phased manner

Verification

During the exam, additional biometric LTI, photograph capture and attendance including physical LTI and signature of candidates will be taken and no extra time will be given as this is a part of the exam process.
