UGC NET e-certificate 2024 will be released by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the NTA NET December cycle. The UGC NET result will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The UGC NET e-certificate will be released on the UGC NET certificate portal and the candidates will be able to download their certificates through the candidates' login using their application number and date of birth. The authority released the UGC NET 2024 June cycle certificate. 

Candidates qualifying for the exam for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) can pursue research in the chosen subject. The validity of UGC NET certificate for Assistant Professors is valid for a lifetime. However, the UGC NET JRF award letter is valid for four years from the date when it is issued.

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the December session exam in more than 200 centres across India in several districts. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.

Q:   What if I reach the UGC NET exam centre after exam begins?

A:
If you reach the UGC NET exam center after the exam begins, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. The reporting time and GATE closing time are mentioned on the UGC NET City Intimation Slip. Candidates are advised to reach the exam center well before the reporting time to avoid any last-minute hassles. It is important to note that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the GATE closing time under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates should plan their travel accordingly and factor in any possible delays such as traffic, etc. To avoid reaching late. If a candidate misses the UGC NET exam due to any reason, they will not be allowed to appear for the exam on a later date. They will have to wait for the next exam cycle to apply and appear for the exam.

What is UGC NET E-Certificate?

On qualifying UGC NET exam, NTA issues an award letter/certificate to appreciate the qualified candidates. This is an authentic digital copy that is approved by UGC which ensures that candidates have qualified NTA NET exam and are eligible to obtain the UGC NET certificate and UGC NET JRF Certificate. Earlier, UGC used to release the UGC NET Certificate after seven to eight months after the declaration of the UGC NET result.

The steps for the UGC NET Certificate download have been given below for the candidates. Candidates are required to enter the roll number or application number to download the NTA UGC NET e-Certificate 2024.

Q:   Is the UGC NET 2025 June session notification released?

A:

No. The authority will release the UGC NET 2025 notification & application form for the June session on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Filling out the UGC NET application is divided into five stages: registration form, application form, image & signature upload, application fee, and confirmation page. The candidates need to fill out the complete application to get the hall ticket for the UGC NET exam 2025 for June session.

Q:   How to check UGC NET December 2024 City Intimation Slip?

A:

The National Testing Agency releases the UGC NET advance city intimation slip on the official website before the release of the admit card. The candidates can use the advance city slip to make arrangements in the exam if needed priorly. The steps to check the UGC NET city intimation slip are given below:

Click on the "Advance City Intimation Slip" link

Enter your application number and date of birth

 Click on the "Submit" button

Advance city intimation slip will be displayed on the screen

Download and print the slip for future reference

  • The advance city intimation slip will contain the following information:
  • Candidate's name
  • Candidate's application number
  • Date of birth
  • Exam city

Note: It is important to note that the advance city intimation slip is not UGC NET admit card. The UGC NET admit card will be released closer to the exam date.

A:

The UGC NET 2024 examination dates for the December session were January 3, 2025 to January 27, 2025. NTA postponed the January 15 exam. The new dates were January 21 and 27, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the UGC NET December 2024 for (i) 'awardof Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', (ii) 'appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' and (iii) 'admission to Ph.D. only' for 85 subjects in CBT, mode.

  • On the homepage, candidates will have to log in after selecting the institution and captcha code
  • Candidates will then have to select UGC-NET from the dropdown list
  • Click the ‘Proceed’ button
  • Enter the Application Number (12-digit number) or Roll Number (Alphanumeric Number), date of birth, exam session, and captcha code.

The UGC NET certificate is valid both for JRF and Assistant Professor. UGC NET certificate validity is mentioned in the award letter. UGC NET certificate validity for JRF and Assistant Professor is given below:

UGC NET e certificates are valid for a lifetime. However, the JRD Award letter is valid for four years from the date of issue. The candidates cannot use the JRF award letter after it gets expired.

What to do If I am Unable to Download UGC NET Certificate?

If any candidate is unable to download their UGC NET certificates, they should immediately send an email request to ecertificate@nta.ac.in along with the following documents:

  • Copy of UGC NET Admit Card and UGC NET Result (scorecard)
  • Postgraduate marks sheet (All Semester/ Consolidated) and degree
  • Certifications stating the university or degree affiliated with UGC or AIU at the time of your post-graduation enrolment
  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC (NCL) certificates (if applicable)
  • Latest OBC (NCL) certificate as per the central list of NCBC (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Research Experience from the approved authority (if applicable)
  • Ex-serviceman / actual service certificate (if applicable)

UGC NET Dec Certificate 2024: Important Points Related to Documents

The important points related to UGC NET certificate documents are given below:

  • All the certificates must be attested by a gazetted officer with an official stamp bearing his/her name, designation, and official address
  • The certificates, which are in languages other than Hindi and English, may require to be translated into Hindi or English and attested by the issuing authority of the original certificates
  • It is required to send all these documents in a single PDF file only
  • The request mail should be addressed to Senior Director, NTA Office
  • All the documents should be arranged in the same order as mentioned above
  • The attached documents should be easily visible

Preparation of UGC NET Certificate/JRF Letter

The process of preparation for the UGC NET certificate/JRF letter is given below:

  • Total slots are allocated to different categories as per the reservation policy of the Government of India
  • In order to be considered for UGC NET Certificate, candidates must appear for both Paper 1 and 2 and score the minimum qualifying marks as given below:

UGC NET Certificate 2024: Important Points

The important points related to the UGC NET certificate 2024 are given below:

  • The eligibility for Assistant Professor or for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor will depend on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of UGC NET in aggregate. Candidates qualifying for Assistant Professor will not be considered for the award of JRF
  • Candidates who qualify for the UGC NET eligibility exam for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations
  • The candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor
  • The universities, institutions, IITs, and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for full-time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them

What if UGC NET Certificate is not Issued?

In the case of non-receipt of the NET certificate, candidates are advised to correspond with/contact the Head, NET Bureau, UGC, South Campus, University of Delhi, Benito Juarez Marg., New Delhi 110 021.

In their cover letter, they must state their Roll No., the date of UGC-NET in which they have appeared, and UGC-Ref. No. (In a case known to them). In case, they have not submitted the attested copies of their documents earlier, they may do so with the cover letter duly signed by them.

 The NTA postponed the UGC NET Dec session exam for January 15, 2025 due to Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals. The revsied dates were released by the NTA. Now, the January 15 exam was conducted on January 21 (morning shift) and January 27, 2025 in the evening shift.
