The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology has been decreasing in the recent years. No, admission to IIT Bombay BTech is through JEE Main/Advanced only, there is no separate application fee of the institute. To take the JEE Mains examination, aspirants need to pay the application fee. The category-wise application fee amount is as follows:

• INR 800  (Female unreserved/OBC/EWS category)
• INR 500  (SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category)

Moreover, students who qualify Mains become eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam. The application fee for JEE Advanced is INR 1,600 for female and reserved category candidates, and INR 3,200 for all other candidates.

The fee payment can be done online through credit/debit card and internet banking. The application is not considered submitted until the application fees is paid.

No, it’s not compulsory for regular scholars to stay in the hostel for studying at IIT Bombay. Also, not every student gets a hostel facility. However, students who get enrolled in summer and winter internships have to stay in a hostel during the tenure of their internship.
