This college has brand value but the course involves mugging up.
Placements: Most students from our college were placed. Some took research jobs. The highest salary package offered was 30 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 6 LPA. The average salary package offered wa13 LPA. Software companies, investment banks, and consultancy companies like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, etc. Almost 50% of the students got internships in banks, startups in software and data analysts, machine learning engineer, etc. Top roles offered are as a software engineer, data analyst, consultancy, product manager at startups, and data scientist.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are average and better than most Indian colleges, yet not up to the mark for a premier institute. But you get 24*7 Wi-Fi, food is fine. There's also a night mess. As for the biotech department, the lab and infrastructure are not up to the mark.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are good, except a few. Except for people interested in research, biotech courses don't help you with careers. But the first-year courses and maths courses are helpful. Chemical engineering courses also have Maths which is helpful. Biotech courses involve a lot of Biology and mugging up and unless interested in research, it doesn't make any sense. Biotech exams are easy, math and chemical are tougher. Most people do pass easily.

Really good infrastructure and faculty
Placements: Good placements for 2016 batch. However, due to the current market situation this year, there was relatively less hiring. But overall anyone who prepared for them decently got through it. Almost everyone gets through the internship program which used to be mandatory for everyone till 2016.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure spread across 300 acres. Nice green campus. 13 hostels and 2 lecture complexes. Athletics, football, hockey facilities and cricket field with a student activity center for indoor sports activities and an open-air theatre for organising functions and events.
Faculty: Most knowledgeable faculty members than you can expect with good teaching experience. They are helpful in almost all the situations and the student to faculty ratio is maintained to ensure maximum output from the organized lectures. They usually use slides to teach.

IIT-Delhi - a great place to be.
Placements: I was not placed at any company. I applied only in banks and other established companies and not in any start-ups. 2015 saw a bumper placement as FDI came to India but during 2016, startups failed due to cash crunch.
Infrastructure: IIT Delhi has a very good infrastructure, up to date equipment with very good repairing and servicing contracts. Wi-Fi has been upgraded in 2014-15, and no low speed has been witnessed after that. Medical facilities are below average and they refer to AIIMS many times. Hostel rooms are good according to me and LAN speed is also great.
Faculty: Faculty members are great and have sound knowledge but obviously many of us never paid heed. The classes were interactive too. Industry exposure is good in internship after third year (not compulsory anymore from last year). Faculty to student ratio was fine.
Other: Please try to maintain 7+ CGPA at least. Do your interns seriously and do them as many as possible and try to secure an international internship. Prepare for placement seriously.

Other: INFRASTRUCTURE - The 350 acre campus is one of the most beautiful campuses that you will come across. Located at the heart of the city it is one of the very few campuses in India to enjoy such a location. With ample greenery in the hood, IIT Delhi is a pollution free campus. Talking about the academic area known as "Insti", there is a Main Building which mainly houses some departments and the administrative block and another set of buildings called as 'Blocks' which also have various departments and "Lecture Theaters". Earlier most of the classes were held here but now since the new Lecture Hall Complex has been built, almost all the classes are being held here. It has state-of-the-art classrooms and amazing design. Coming to the hostels, there are 13 hostels in total out of which 11 are boys' hostels and 2 are girls' hostels. Overall the hostels are average with basic facilities in place. There are automatic washing machines, water coolers, geysers and showers in place. Each hostel also has its individual mess. Mess food can sometimes be unbearable but otherwise it is okay for most of the time. There is a night canteen also in most of the hostels which opens from 9.30 pm till 4 am in the morning. Each hostel also has its separate Badminton and Basketball court and a Cricket Net to practice. Every hostel also has its own Gym and a Table Tennis table. Apart from all this there is a separate TV Room which has a DTH connection and a computer room having the computing facilities. There is also a Music Room and a Dance Room for students interested in these. IIT Delhi also has excellent sports facilities and is a heaven for sports enthusiasts. The college has central sporting facilities apart from individual hostel sporting facilities. Talking about the central facilities, there are wooden courts for Badminton and synthetic courts for Tennis. There are separate grounds for Cricket, Football as well as Hockey. Volleyball and Basketball also enjoy separate courts in the campus. There are courts for Squash and table for Pool as well. There is also a central Gym which has a plethora of equipment to use. Campus also has many eating joints and canteens scattered inside the campus including a subsidized CCD, Amul, Lipton and Nescafe to name a few. You can find almost every source of entertainment around the campus within a radius of 5 kms. There is SDA market in front of the main gate which has many cafe's and restaurants. Hauz Khas Village which is the party place of the city with around 50 restaurants, bars and cafe's is just 2-3 kms away. While the two best and the biggest malls namely Select City Walk, Saket and Ambiance Mall, Vasant Kunj are within 5 kms of the campus. PLACEMENTS - Placements at IIT Delhi are one of the best in the country. Big shot companies from all sectors like finance, consulting, management, IT, core branches and analytics visit the campus during placements. Consulting companies like McKinsey and Co., Bain and Co., BCG and A.T. Kearney are the most sought after. While Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and other finance companies also enjoy top status. The most number of companies that visit the campus are IT companies. Apart from that companies relating to each branch of engineering also visit the campus. Overall the placement is almost 100% and salaries range from 6 lpa to 100 lpa throughout. The median salary offered is around 7-8 lpa. The Training and Placement Cell looks after the whole placement process. FACULTY - Every faculty at IIT Delhi has Post Doctorate against their name. They are broadly divided into Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors. Overall the faculty is pretty good at IIT Delhi with every faculty also doing their own research. They also get many industry and Government funded projects in which students are also involved. Each semester there are about 200 courses floated across departments from which students can choose.

Other: The overall culture of the college was awesome. You get to meet so many people from different backgrounds, different cultures and different mind-set that after you complete your graduation, you become a completely different person. IIT Delhi is one of the finest college of India for engineering and I have no doubt about it. Though about my department, there is still a lot of room for improvement. The level of teaching is not that high. But still it is just worth to be a part of the campus.
