Jamia millia islamia is one of the college in India in terms of engineering .
Placements: Two students out of 80 got the highest package of 13.9 LPA in civil engineering. 17 students got an average package of 7.8 LPA, and 6 students got the lowest package of 4.7 LPA. JMI has more placement opportunities in all branches.
Infrastructure: Our building is old, so infrastructure-wise, it is not good. All facilities are available, like Wi-Fi. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and have good lighting. There is a lift on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive. If you ask anything, they will answer your questions. The curriculum is relevant. Every teacher teaches well. Semester exams are difficult, but most students pass easily. The material provided by teachers is sufficient to pass.
Other: I chose civil engineering by choice, and our college has high placement rates for civil engineers. Events are held weekly. Students can attend events or classes.

Department of civil engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Placements: Last year, about 60% of the students at Jamia Millia Islamia got campus placements. The highest salary package was 25 lakh per annum (LPA), and the lowest was 5 LPA. Companies that visited the campus included L&T, Tata, and others. Students were offered positions such as assistant engineer, site engineer, and so on.
Infrastructure: The engineering faculty at Jamia Millia Islamia is housed in a beautiful building that was inaugurated by former central minister Madhorao Sindhiya. The classrooms are air-conditioned and have smart boards, and students have access to Wi-Fi 24x7. All types of labs are available.
Faculty: The engineering courses are based on a semester system, with two semesters held each year. The courses are challenging, but the professors are highly experienced and humble, which makes for a great learning environment.

Satisfied with the teachers but not with the marking scheme, and the infrastructure is very good.
Placements: The ROI is very good. There are excellent placement offers that the college provides. There are PSUs like BEL that come for recruitment, and different companies like TCS visit frequently, along with big companies for placement drives.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, with decent sports facilities and all the necessary equipment available in the labs. All facilities are provided in the labs, and the college buildings are highly ventilated, featuring a large green campus in Delhi, which is quite spacious.
Faculty: There is a slight issue with attendance, but it's not as strict as in other colleges. The teachers are very lenient and supportive, providing a good level of knowledge. There are faculty members who genuinely understand students' needs and listen to them, while the college exam has no leniency.
Other: There are not many co-curricular activities compared to other colleges, but the changing crowd is evolving and will improve over time.

Good Faculty, Bad Placements, Strict Depth, Satisfactory Campus Life .
Placements: Around 35-40% of students get placed in Campus Placement in Civil Engineering. The highest package was 10 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. Avg Package = 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies include L&T, DLF, etc. Around 25% of students get internships in Construction companies or in Research Institutions in DMRC, L&T, etc. Top roles offered are Site Engineer, Structural Engineer, etc. Most of the students prepare for government jobs and GATE for higher education and PSUs.
Infrastructure: In the Department of Civil Engineering, we have the facility of high-speed Wi-Fi, fully AC, and well-furnished classrooms with projectors, etc. Digitalised Library and Reading Halls separately for the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, other than the one at the Central Library and another Reading Hall named Ibn-Sina. Labs are traditional, and most machines used are of old school. Although the labs are good enough for training and research. Not everyone gets a hostel because of the lesser number of hostel seats against the admitted students. Around 25% of students get a hostel in Engineering based on some criteria points and an interview. But hostels are good enough. Rooms are satisfactory but less spacious in hostels like AMK but more spacious in hostels like APJ. Food quality is good enough compared to big Indian colleges. Non-veg is served in dinner 5 times a week. Only breakfast is limited and has less quantity for those with heavy breakfast habits. Lunch has simple sabzi and salad. Dal, chawal, & roti is constant in lunch and dinner other than the special sabzi or dish according to the scheme. The canteen is not too big, but students get customised to it with time. Medical facilities are available for daytime till 9 p.m. in M.A. Ansari Health Centre, which is near the boys' hostel. Although hostel caretakers are there anytime 24/7, they'll arrange things during medical emergencies. FRK Hostel has table tennis, the facility of the issue of cricket kits, etc. There is enough space for gully cricket, badminton, etc. The gym is of above-average level. Good enough for students.
Faculty: The Department of Civil Engineering is the oldest Engineering department of Jamia Millia Islamia with well-qualified and experienced faculty. Most of the Professors are Senior Researchers in their field. In our department, there is strictness regarding Attendance (75% compulsory) and Internal Assessment. The curriculum is somewhat conventional and more aligned towards Research, but there are industry-related Subjects and Training Courses too. If you can take help, Societies and Seniors play an important role in awareness, developing core skills, and soft skills too. Seniors make an environment for government jobs and GATE. Exams are to be taken seriously as our depth marking scheme is tough. 2 Mid-Seems are conducted.
Other: If you want to go in a research career (higher education-GATE), government officer, PSU through GATE, or in core field jobs, then our depth is very good for you but NOT for those who want to go to the IT sector and related fields. Industry connections for training, internship, and placements can be improved a lot with a change of some syllabus and labs of a conventional type to a modern one. Events are held in Jamia many times a year. There are many fests of different departments of Jamia. The annual fest is Jamia Foundation Day. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has its own fest called Crescentia with cultural, sports, and technical competitions. Engineering sports competitions are conducted twice a year for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and athletics. Connectivity with the campus is through DTC bus and Metro (convenient). The campus is not very big but good enough to enjoy. There are many scholarships and extracurriculars when you come. Crowd: You don't have very high-quality students around you because of a low cut-off.

Detailed review of Jamia Millia Islamia .
Placements: Placement is average. 60–70% of total number of students applied. The top companies that came are L&T, Bechtel, Ashiyana, Shobha Construction, Siemens, etc. Placement offers are of 6 LPA, 8 LPA, 60k/month + accommodation, etc. The average package from civil is 4-5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, AC, and other necessary things. Wi-Fi is available for free all over the campus. The library is first-class; you can get all types of books and study material in the many reading halls with AC. Hostel infrastructure is not so good, except for some buildings. Mess food is average. But getting to the hostel is tough. Seats are limited so there is a selection process for hostels that you have to pass, which includes an interview for the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and very experienced. If you seek help, they will help. Teaching quality is good but not dependable without self-study. Course curriculum are relevant and do not go out of focus. Industry readiness is not possible without student efforts and internships. Semester exam toughness depends on the subject and professors.
