Q:   Which is better JMI or AMU for BTech?

A:

Both Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia offers BTech course for a duration of four years. AMU BTech will range between INR 15,690 and INR 10.78 lakh, whereas JMI BTech fee is comparatively less i.e. INR 64,600. Talking about the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 rankings, AMU was ranked 32 in the Engineering category, whereas, JMI ranked 26th spot in the list. Apart from the ranking and fees, JMI BTech placements are also good when compared to AMU. During, AMU BTech placements 2022, the highest package offered was INR 21 LPA. On the other hand, Jamia Millia Islamia the highest package stood at INR 25 LPA during the 2023 BTech placements drive. So, considering all the aspects mentioned here, JMI is better than AMU for BTech.

Q:   Is BTech at Jamia Millia Islamia good?

A:

The answer to whether BTech from Jamia Millia Islamia is good or not depends on a lot of factors. All these factors are listed below one after another:

In a world where more in-depth specialisations, such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are trending the university still sticks to the basic courses. For students looking out for core information on the trending areas of AI and ML, it can't be considered a good option. But in case, a student wishes to stay with the traditional branches, Jamia Millia Islamia can be a good option.
  • Placements: Another factor that comes into consideration while choosing a college for a course is its return on investment value. The same can be calculated basis of the kind of placements offered to the students. As per the data collated from the verified students' reviews on Shikhsa, the majority of students mention that 70-90% of BTech students get placement opportunities from Jamia.  Additionally, the salary packages start from INR 3-4 LPA as the lowest and go up to even INR 25 Lacs per annum for some students.
  • Fee: While the general fee for BTech ranges from INR 2 to 5 Lacs per annum for colleges in India, Jamia Millia Islamia charges INR 16,150 annually for its BTech programme which is extremely low. Hence, concerning the fee, Jamia Millia Islamia is a great option for BTech.

Based on the factors mentioned above and the requirements of candidates, they can decide whether they want to go ahead with Jamia Millia Islamia for BTech or not. Read more about BTech reviews from Jamia Millia Islamia students here.

    They didn't provide any internship.
Placements: The highest salary offered was around 31 LPA, while the lowest was around 3.25 LPA. Around 40% of students were placed. EXL, TCS, C Dot, and Accenture were some of the companies that visited our campus. There were no internships in our curriculum, which was a drawback. Most of the roles offered were for software engineers or developers, but I got a job as a business analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this university is good, and better than most other universities because of its heritage and legacy. However, it is not high-tech, and although there are air conditioners in the classrooms, most of them don't work. The hostels are very hard to get into, as they are very limited. There is a huge sports complex, but students are restricted from using it.
Faculty: The teachers at this university are very good at what they teach. Most of them have transferred from IITs and are Ph.D. holders. However, the curriculum is not up to par because they do not provide internships. That's why many companies didn't come to recruit students. Also, the teachers tend to pass students easily.

My Jamia, My Love, My Life.
Placements: Jamia Millia Islamia placements are good because in all branches, the number of students is 70, and almost all are placed in their particular branch. The average placement in all branches is almost 7 to 8 Lacs. Jamia Millia Islamia students are placed because Jamia is present in Delhi, and many big companies from Gurgaon and Noida come to give jobs to the students. Almost all companies come, and they choose according to their CGPA. Wipro, Infosys, Tata, and all companies come.
Infrastructure: Jamia Milia Islamia’s course structure is very good from every college because in the first year exam, all subjects are taught like English, civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer, biology, and also the constitution of India to all students because all students need to know basic information about all branches because in the future, they don't get a problem understanding when they were together in a hostel; only a few rooms are available, and not only those who get a hostel but also those who need one. In Delhi, students do not give hostel rooms.
Faculty: Faculty experienced like 30 years, 32 years, and all the faculty have their own patent in their subject. In the first semester, two sessional exams are taken, and one and some after two sections of the first year semester are very tough and very hard to understand. The students are unable to understand them because of the lack of time; they didn't give much more time to study.
Other: The fee for this college is 16,625, and the NIRF ranking of this college is 2 in terms of B.Tech.

Academic life, placements, hostel, and mess are up to the mark, but the fests & events are not good.
Placements: The average package of the college is 10 LPA, with a placement percentage of about 45% in the electrical branch. Our seniors did internships in companies like Nvidia, Adobe, DLF, etc. Approximately 40% of seniors secured internships. Specifically, our branch is a little behind because most people switch fields nowadays.
Infrastructure: The sports facilities of the college are very good, featuring one of the best cricket grounds in all of Delhi. The Wi-Fi range is a little less; you have to go to certain places to get the connection. The quality of the labs can also be improved. First-year classrooms are very uncomfortable.
Faculty: The course and exams are tough, but teachers are helpful. They teach what is necessary and emphasize the practicality of the knowledge rather than spending time on less important topics. Student admissions and spot rounds are ongoing, and people join even after the sessionals, which makes it very hard for them to cope.
Other: The college has various societies that emphasize individual growth, but those who are not selected in any societies find it hard to develop their social life. The events and fests are not very famous, and societies only focus on academic growth.

Jamia is located in a good area, very affordable, and offers decent placements.
Placements: Around 70% of students are placed in Electrical Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia University. The highest salary package is 19 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include TCS, Accenture, Optum, HCL Ltd., etc. About 30%-40% percent of students received internships.
Infrastructure: We have good infrastructure, combining both old-style and modern design buildings. The Zakir Hussain Library is an excellent building with a vast collection of books. The campus also has a very good Wi-Fi system throughout. Jamia has seven boys' hostels and three girls' hostels, offering affordable mess food and fees. The hostels also have Wi-Fi systems. Jamia boasts a fantastic sports complex, although the timing for sports activities could be improved.
Faculty: Our professors are helpful to students, but some are arrogant they have extensive knowledge and are well-educated. All teachers have at least a PhD degree, and some of our professors have even been recognised as the top 2% of scientists in the world. The semester exams are not very hard, and we can easily pass them by studying 2 to 4 days before the exam.
Other: Jamia Millia Islamia University has a very good location and very affordable and decent placements. Jamia don't organise any events and like only happens once a year like sports events and also fire fest.

Absolutely satisfied because of good faculty members, placements, and sports complex facilities.
Placements: About 70 percent of students in the electrical engineering department at Jamia Millia Islamia are placed. The highest package is around 18 LPA, while the lowest package is around 3 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies for this department include TCS, Accenture, Optum, HCL, and Adobe. About internships, there is no data provided by our department, but about 40 percent of students got internships.
Infrastructure: In our department, the class is not fully air-conditioned. The infrastructure is not so good because it is a very old university. Here, Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are available. Hostels are not available for all the students. The mess and canteen are good. The sports complex is very good compared to others.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. Yes, the curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. The end-semester exam level is above average—not very difficult, but also not very easy. The percentage marks required to just qualify for the examination is 40 percent.
Other: I got the electrical engineering department here at Jamia Millia Islamia University not by my choice, but by my JEE rank. My family wanted me to get admission here, and according to my JEE rank, I got the electrical department. I will improve in coding because it is not in my course, but I want a teaching job. Here, fests and events are always happening. The campus crowd is not very large, and the campus is not so large for engineering. Scholarship facilities are available, but not everyone will get it. I did not get any scholarship right now.

Q:   Is Jamia Millia Islamia good for M.Com?

    A:
    {Source: M.Com students & alumni}

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) - Is it Good for M.Com?

Based on reviews from current students and alumni, here's what they say:

    * Placement Record: While the college claims to have a good placement record, the reality seems to be different. According to students, only about 20% of students get placed, with the highest package offered being INR5.5 LPA.
    * Recruiters: Companies like Samsung, Kotak Mahindra, DMI Housing Finance, and Acxiom visit the campus for placements, but the number of recruiters is relatively small.
    * Course Curriculum: The M.Com course is well-structured and covers finance, accounting, and purchasing, making students industry-ready.
    * Teaching Quality: Some students feel that the teaching quality could improve, while others appreciate the support and guidance received from faculty members.
    * Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful campus with modern infrastructure, including a large library, laboratories, and a sports complex.

This is the first time Jamia will take admission through JEE Mains(score or rank, not decided yet). You need to score more than 140 marks in JEE Main to get these branches and your rank should be under 35,000(tentative).
