Faculty are good but some are very rude.
Placements: Nearly above 75-85 students get placed. Others go for higher studies and government jobs like PSUs through GATE. The average package is around 12 LPA. I am in the 3rd year, and one month back, a company named Accenture came to campus to provide us with internships and placements for the 4th year. I don't know about the final year, but I saw the result that 12 students for internships and 23 for placements got selected.
Infrastructure: As it is an NIT, the infrastructure could be good, but it's average. I am in the 3rd year, staying in Neelkanth Boys Hostel. It has its own night canteen in the hostel, open between 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and things are very cheap, like a mix paratha for 15 rupees. New Wi-Fi routers were installed but not opened, even after four months have gone by.
Faculty: The teachers are good and have a minimum of a Ph.D. degree. Some of the teachers are very supportive. The exam level in electrical engineering is a little bit hard, and then marking is also hard, so you have to work hard to get a good CGPA. The pass percentage is sometimes like 25-40 students failing in difficult subjects like electrical machines and power systems. But some subjects have a 100% pass percentage.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because of the first cutoff. But later I realized it was a good decision. Electrical engineers can enter both teaching and core jobs easily, and jobs are available in PSUs, government jobs, or in IT hub companies.

Really good infrastructure and good atmosphere to concentrate on your studies.
Placements: A total 108 students were placed out of 125 students enrolled last year, i.e., 2023. The highest package is 18 lakhs per year, and 8 lakhs is the average package. Top companies are Orient, Havells, etc. The top role offered in my course is as assistant engineer as a fresher.
Infrastructure: Here is a pleasant atmosphere and the weather conditions are very good as the college is situated on mountains. The infrastructure of the college is very good and wifi is installed in every classroom and other areas also outside hostels as well as in the hostels. Hostels are very clean and hygienic, rooms are spacious and food quality is also good. Here are various committees of cultural and other events to conduct various fun activities throughout the year. There is a student health care centre for medical treatment.
Faculty: Teachers here are very supportive and dedicated to their respective responsibilities. Each and every teacher here is a PhD holder from renowned institutes. The course curriculum is designed to provide the best content and industry knowledge by teaching them real-life applications of what they have learnt. Semester assessments are moderate, and if you are sincere a little bit, then you can easily crack a good CGPA.
Other: I chose this subject because of diverse career opportunities in the coming years and I also have a keen interest in electrical engineering. The annual cultural festival is named HILLFAIR, which is of 2 days and the other is named NIMBUS, which is a technical fest and students from various renowned institutes compete with each other with their bots and earn prizes. Here are 25 clubs and various societies that are very supportive and dedicated to building the overall personality of students by teaching them event management.

Academic and social life at NIT, Hamirpur.
Placements: The average placements package for an electrical engineer is around 6 lac per annum. Last year, the placements hit 92%, and the average package for all the branches combined was 7-8 lacs. Every year, around 70% students get placed in companies. The placements are average.
Infrastructure: The hostels are not good for living. There is water scarcity in the winters and the food is not good too. The infrastructure for the course is good but needs to be updated as per the modern needs. The departments have fine labs and instruments. The hostels need to be improved.
Faculty: The faculty is full of aged people and the marking is very strict. 7 CGPI is considered good here. The college follows an absolute strict marking and should introduce relative marking for better competition with private colleges. The teachers are well qualified but some of them aren't that good.

College is quite good for networking. You will meet some of the sharpest minds here.
Placements: The placement rate is quite good in all branches. The highest package for our branch last year was 18 LPA, and the median salary was about 7-8 LPA. Internship opportunities are also good; every branch offers valuable internships to students, allowing them to gain training and earn a good stipend.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is commendable, but the hostel facilities are not that great. The rooms are very small, and some of them are shared by four people. The food in the hostel is quite good, but the facilities like Wi-Fi and water supply could be improved.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable, but the course curriculum isn't very strong in the first year. For example, we have to study subjects like Environmental Science and Entrepreneurship, which are only for one semester and hold little value in our professional lives.
Other: I didn't choose Electrical; I got it according to my preferences in JOSAA counseling. As I mentioned before, irrelevant subjects shouldn't be taught, and the curriculum should focus on subjects that help us build our professions.

Placements: Placements are good; you can get high packages in tech, IT, or in the core sector too. Many companies come to college during the placement season, and the placements cell is highly active. The highest packages are in the IT sector; the rest are average. Companies like Samsung and Microsoft are regular visitors here.
Infrastructure: The library is open 24 hours, with lakhs of books available to borrow. There is a nice reading area for studying. Classrooms are modern, all equipped with smart boards and projectors. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and has good speed but is limited to 1 GB per day. However, the LAN cable has no limit and offers high speeds. The college has a health center and an ambulance service.
Faculty: The faculty is nice; they always try to communicate with students. Although the courses are pretty old, most of them aren't relevant in today’s age. For example, many people here dislike engineering drawing. To obtain your degree, you need the required number of credits and at least a 5 CGPI. You must get at least 40% marks to pass an exam here.
