Q:   Is Punjab University under CUET?

A:

Yes, Punjab University is under CUET. All postgraduate courses at Central University of Punjab, including the M.Ed., require CUET PG. If you have not taken the CUET PG, the university will not evaluate your application for admission.

A national level entrance test for postgraduate programs in India is called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG). The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting it. The test consists of three portions and is based on multiple-choice questions:

Subject-specific Test (SST) and General Test (GAT)
WAT: Writing Ability Test
The GAT part evaluates the candidate's aptitude and general knowledge. The SST portion assesses the candidate's familiarity with the field of study they intend to pursue. A candidate's writing abilities are evaluated in the WAT portion.

Admission to postgraduate programs at Central University of Punjab is entirely based on performance in the CUET PG exam. Your other academic credentials, such as the grades you earned in your bachelor's degree, won't be taken into account by the university for admission.

Q:   How can I get admission in Punjab University for BTech?

All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling. Hence, the selection criteria of PU BTech is completed via JAC Chandigarh Counselling. Q:   Is M.A. at Panjab University worth the investment?

A:
{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
* Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
* Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
* Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

Cons:

* Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
* Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.
* Research-oriented internships: While some internships are available, they tend to be research-focused rather than corporate-driven, limiting practical experience.
* Academic intensity: Some students felt that the course load was too heavy, with little scope for hands-on learning or industry application.

In conclusion, whether M.A. at Panjab University is worth the investment depends on individual goals and expectations. For those seeking a strong academic foundation and theoretical knowledge, the university seems suitable. Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's an analysis of whether an M.Sc. degree from Panjab University is worth the investment:

Academics and Faculty

* The faculty members are generally considered helpful, experienced, and knowledgeable in their respective fields.
* The course curriculum is relevant and covers both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject.
* Some students mentioned that the professors could be more punctual and humble.

Infrastructure and Facilities

* The university has modern facilities, including Wi-Fi, libraries, and well-equipped labs.
* The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the libraries have a wide range of book collections.
* However, some students pointed out that the hostel facilities could be improved.

Career Prospects and Placements

* Unfortunately, placements for M.Sc. students are limited, especially in the biophysics, biochemistry, and microbiology departments.

    "Perfection in Statistics.
Placements: In our batch 2 students are campus placed and 5-6 off campus placed. One of the student got 7.25 Lacs Package. And one got 7 Lacs package. Off campus students got 6 Lacs package. TCS, UHG and many more companies visited the campus. 100% students got internship.
Infrastructure: Department of statistics labs, Wi-fi, Classrooms, library, Medical Facilities, Sports and Games etc. Facilities are very good, Quality of food available in the canteen was very good. Hostel rooms are quite good. No I didn't have any issur during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very much helpful, They are very much qualified even all having the doctorate degree, They use every teaching much which is very much useful for students learning and understanding. There student-faculty 20:1 ratio. The curriculum syllanus is very much useful.

A good place to study but there are less placement opportunities.
Placements: My batch had a strength of 35 students, out of which, only 9 students were placed. The highest package offered was of 8 Lacs per annum, which was provided by TCS and the lowest was 4 Lacs per annum, provided by GCE. We were offered the role of Business Analyst. The criteria for the internship was comparatively good. The students who could not find private internships were offered the same under MOSPI. On an average, the stipend offered was Rs. 4,000 per month. There is no placement cell particularly for each department, but there is a placement cell for the whole university called AVSAR. It is somewhat useful when you're ready to work in a different field.
Infrastructure: Since Chandigarh is named to be "the beautiful city", so does the university campus. There's greenery everywhere with lots of gardens and a lovely library which is open for 24 hours. The quality of labs and classrooms is also quite good. There's a food hub in the centre of the university, called the Stuck (Student Centre) and the food is delicious. The hostel rooms can be tiny but sufficient to accommodate two people.
Faculty: The faculty are really good. The university is known for the level of education it provides. But there was no industry exposure provided. The course curriculum was very useful but still needs to be improved. In my course, some programming languages which are being taught have become outdated in the industry today.

Good infrastructure but requires more placement opportunities.
Placements: TCS visited for the placement of 3 departments i.e. statistics, mathematics and economics department offering 7.5 LPA. Among our batch, 3/35 students were selected for the analyst post. The internship was unpaid that was offered through the department. For the senior students, 1 company visited and hired two senior students offering 7LPA. Offered the post of a data analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is good. Well maintained classroom, benches, air-conditioned library and seminar halls. The computer labs are well maintained with good systems. The projector facility is available in the classes, labs and seminar hall. The department and the hostel have Wi-Fi.
Faculty: The faculty members are experienced and have a good knowledge of the subject. Both board and presentation methods are used for the teaching purpose. The teachers provide you with good study materials. The languages taught in the curriculum are required to be modified. New languages needed to be introduced to R programming, Python, Tableau, spark instead of Fortran, C, and C++.
