Civil Engineering is a professional engineering course in which the students study the design, construction and maintenance of physical structures, both natural and man-made. Civil Engineering subjects include courses on the design, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil Engineering is a broad discipline with various sub-disciplines and specializations at both UG and PG levels like soil engineering, water engineering, geomatics engineering, and highway and traffic engineering among others. The basic civil engineering course at the graduate level is divided into 4 years/8 semesters and the total number of subjects may range from 40 to 50 depending upon the institute. At the PG level, the Civil Engineering course is divided into 4 Semester/2 Years in which the 2nd year is a majorly project-based curriculum. Students can check here the Civil Engineering syllabus for both UG and PG courses including elective courses and specializations.
