JNU Delhi does not accept the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admission to the BTech courses. To be eligible for JNU BTech admission, candidates must have a valid JEE Main score. The final selection is based on JoSAA counselling process. The JoSAA counselling is usually held in the month of September. This year, there will be six rounds of seat allotment.  

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 21334 and closing rank was 30177 for BTech CSE in JNU. Moreover, cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

Last year, the closing rank for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering was 48464, which is very close to this range. Thus, you have a good chance of getting selected. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut-offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission to Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The cutoff ranks 2024 for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru University other than General category are - 58780 for OBC, 158641 for SC, 251417 for ST, 58661 for EWS, 416895 for PWD. JNU BTech cutoff 2024 was concluded after the released of JEE Main Round 7 Seat Allotment Result. JNU BTech cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1 wherein CSE was the most competitive course with a closing rank of 22669 for the General AI category students. For the OBC category, the cutoff  was 10003 for CSE and 12811 for ECE programmes.

However, they have to wait till the last rounds, as the cutoffs in the initial rounds might be more competitive than 30,000. For JNU BTech admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST candidates). Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, a valid JEE Main score is also required to be eligible for Jawaharlal Nehru University BTech admission.  Candidates must hold the qualifying exam mark sheet and pass certificate as it is required for verification purposes.
