NTSE Exam Pattern 2024: NCERT releases the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2024 exam pattern on the official website. NTSE 2024 will be held in the offline mode i.e. in Pen-Paper mode for both levels i.e. State level examination (stage I) and National level examination (stage II). The NTSE Stage 1 exam 2024 will be held on November 4 and 5, 2024 tentatively. The scholarship exam by NCERT comprises two papers i.e. Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Both MAT and SAT papers of NTSE 2024 are conducted on the same day but, in two different shifts i.e. Morning shift from 9:30 am to 11:30 am for MAT and the Evening shift from 01:30 pm to 03:30 pm for SAT paper. The exams will be conducted at allotted exam centres only as listed by states/UTs for state level exam and by NCERT for NTSE 2024 Stage II exam. The candidates have to appear for the exam with their valid admit card as issued by the exam conducting authority. The NTSE 2024 syllabus level is of Class 9th and Class 10th only. There is no syllabus separately prescribed for NTSE 2024 state level or national level examination. The difficulty level of NTSE papers is of moderate level.

Features of NTSE Exam Pattern –

Exam mode – Pen-paper based test (answers to be marked on OMR sheets)

Exam Medium – The language/medium of instructions and questions will be of candidates’ choice from the language options provided by the exam conducting body for State level examination. The NTSE stage 1 will be in English, Hindi or any regional language. The stage 2 exam will be in Hindi and English medium only. Candidates are required to select the medium of paper while applying for the exam.

Total exam duration – 120 minutes for all candidates except visually challenged candidates who are provided 150 minutes for all papers.

Questions type – All the papers of NTSE state level and national level exams are based on objective type questions with multiple choices.

 The NTSE is typically conducted in two stages:1

. Stage I (State Level): This stage is done by individual states

2 .Stage II (National Level): Candidates who qualify in Stage I  to go on this stage automatically.
