The Medieval is one of the important eras as the study covers many centuries in India. The medieval era started in the sixth century and carried on till the late 17^th century. The period saw rulers come into existence which included the Chalukyas, the Pallavas, the Pandyas, and the Muslim rulers of the Mughal Empire. One of the most important dynasties to emerge in the middle of the medieval period was that of the Cholas. The medieval period can be classified into two periods. The ‘Early Medieval Period’ and the ‘Late Medieval Period’. A branch of History, the start of the medieval period in India commenced with the collapse of the Gupta Empire, which generally comes under Ancient India.
