• Diet of Ancient Romans: The Ancient Romans used to have 3 meals a day. Bread and meat were their staple food. Wine was a common drink though it was prohibited for women. Olive oil, pepper and cumin were some of the main ingredients used. They ate with their hands and did not use any sophisticated cutlery.
• More than 40 countries of the present day were a part of the Roman Empire: The Roman Empire was vast and extensive including a large part of Europe, the Anatolia region and northern Africa. The frontiers of the Roman Empire were not consistent. The changing map of the Roman Empire is attributable to their state of continuous warfare which led to annexation and loss of territories.
• Roman Architecture: The ancient Romans were among the first to use concrete for construction purposes. The Romans made Arches and Vaults that could hold the weight of heavy structures. They built drainage systems which are one of the perfect structures built without the use of modern technology.
• The Colosseum: The Colosseum is a large oval-shaped building located at the nucleus of Rome. It took almost 8 years to construct the structure. It stands as one of the architectural marvels of the Roman Empire. It is the world’s largest amphitheater. It covers around 6 acres of land.

A popular interpretation is that one should not try to prove a point when the other person is emotionally unstable and burning with anger. • Rome was not built in a day: The famous idiom can also be referred to as a motivational quote. According to this quote, if one wants to achieve big goals he has to make consistent efforts and not expect immediate results.
• When in Rome, do as the Romans Do: This idiom has many supporters as well as resisters. It says that one should follow the rules, regulations, customs, and common practices of the place he visits. Though many people believe that this should be an unsaid norm, some think that it could restrict personal freedom and identity.
• All roads lead to Rome: This popular idiom means that even though one could have taken different paths to achieve a goal the result could be the same. Another interpretation of this idiomatic expression is that there is a fixed destiny that no one can escape.
