Q:   What is the marking scheme of UGC NET 2024 December session exam?

A:

The marking scheme of the UGC NET exam is provided below for the candidates. Following the marking scheme for the UGC NET exam, candidates can understand the exam pattern and prepare for the examination well. The marking scheme will also help the candidate to count the probable scores from the UGC NET provisional answer key that is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA):

a) For correct answer 2 marks are awarded

b) For incorrect answer there is no negative marking

c) Unanswered/marked for review: 0 (no marks given)

d) If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit.

E) If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then two marks (+2) will be awarded to only those candidates who have attempted the question

Q:   Does the difficulty level of the UGC NET question paper differ for different shifts?

A:
The difficulty level of the UGC NET question paper may differ for different shifts or sessions. This is because the question paper is set by different experts for different shifts and they may vary in their interpretation of the syllabus and the difficulty level of the questions. However, the National Testing Agency NTA which conducts the UGC NET exam, takes steps to ensure that the overall difficulty level of the question paper is the same for all the shifts. This is done through a process of equating the scores of the candidates appearing in different shifts. Equating is a statistical process that is used to adjust the scores of the candidates taking into account the differences in the difficulty level of the question papers in different shifts. This ensures that the scores of the candidates are comparable and that no candidate is at a disadvantage due to the variation in the difficulty level of the question paper. In summary, while the difficulty level of the UGC NET question paper may differ for different shifts, the NTA takes steps to ensure that the overall difficulty level is the same. Candidates should focus on their preparation and not worry too much about the difficulty level of the question paper for their particular shift.

Q:   Does normalisation happen in UGC NET?

A:

Yes, the UGC NET follows the normalisation process to ensure fairness in the evaluation process. Basically, this process involves comparing the scores if aspirants who participate in the same examination but on different dates or in different sessions.

Solving UGC NET question papers should be a gradual process, starting with the easier questions and gradually moving towards the more difficult ones. You can also use the UGC NET question papers to identify the important topics and prioritize your preparation accordingly. It is important to solve the UGC NET question papers in a simulated environment, similar to the actual exam, to get a realistic experience. You should also time yourself while solving the question papers to improve your speed and accuracy and develop a strategy for managing time during the actual exam. Therefore, starting to solve UGC NET question papers early in your preparation and gradually increasing the difficulty level can help you to improve your chances of success in the exam.

D) Practice and Revision: Solving the previous year's question papers can help candidates to practice and revise the concepts they have learned. This can help them to reinforce their understanding of the subject and identify areas where they need to improve. E) Evaluate Performance: By solving the previous year's question papers, candidates can evaluate their performance and identify their strengths and weaknesses. This can help them to make necessary improvements and prepare better for the exam. Therefore, solving UGC NET previous year's question papers is an important part of the exam preparation strategy and can help candidates to score well in the exam.

Q:   Can I take the UGC NET question paper home after the exam?

A:
No, candidates are not allowed to take the UGC NET question paper or any other exam-related material outside the examination hall after the Computer Based Test (CBT) is over. The UGC NET question paper is the property of the National Testing Agency NTA and it is not meant to be shared or circulated. However, candidates are allowed to take a printout of the questions and their responses which is released by the NTA along with the provisional answer key. The 'Response Sheet', contains the questions that were asked in the exam along with the responses marked by the candidate. The Response Sheet can be used by the candidates to evaluate their performance and identify their mistakes. Candidates are advised to keep the Response Sheet safe for future reference. It is also important to note that the original response sheet remains with the NTA and it is used for the purpose of evaluation and preparation of the result. Therefore, candidates should not attempt to take the UGC NET question paper or any other exam-related material outside the examination hall to avoid any disqualification or other consequences.
