UGC NET is conducted in order to shortlist candidates for the post of only Assistant Professor or both Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian colleges and universities. Till now Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted UGC NET exam. However, starting from December 2018, the teaching exam will be conducted by the newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA).
All candidates willing to apply for UGC NET December 2018 exam can fill the application form in online mode as per the steps mentioned below. Application process for UGC NET December 2018 exam is expected to start from September 1.
Step 1: Apply on the Login page
As the first step, all candidates need to visit the Login page of UGC NET and click on the Apply for NET 2018 link. Thereafter, candidates need to click on the Proceed to Apply Online link. On clicking the link, UGC NET application form will appear on the screen.
Step 2: Fill UGC NET Application Form
Details to be filled in the application form are as mentioned below:
• Exam details: Firstly, candidates need to select their preference for NET exam centres. Also, candidates need to select the role (Assistant Professor/ JRF and Assistant Professor) for which they want to appear for the exam.
• Personal details: Here, candidates need to enter details such as their name, gender, date of birth, contact number, parents’ names, etc.
• Contact details: In this section candidates need to enter their permanent address.
• Education details: This section requires candidates to enter details such as subject of post-graduation, status of post-graduation (passed/ appearing), university name, year of passing post-graduation, etc.
• Password: Here, candidates need to generate their password.
Step 3: Upload Signature & Images
In this step, candidates need to upload their scanned signature and images as per the prescribed specifications.

Step 4: Pay UGC NET Application Fee
After all details in the form are duly-filled and scanned signature and images are uploaded, candidates can pay their application fee. The fee can be paid either through e-challan of Syndicate/ Canara/ ICICI bank or debit/ credit card.

Step 5: Download UGC NET Confirmation Page
As the final step, candidates need to download as well as print the confirmation page and keep it for future reference.
Thereafter, UGC NET 2018 application process will be complete.
Note: UGC NET application process mentioned above is as per July 2018 exam conducted by CBSE. Any changes in the application process of the exam, if brought by NTA, will be updated.
