Chandigarh University Overview.
Placements: Chandigarh University provides almost all students to place in companies. Several different companies comes and visit college for placement drives. The highest package is above 1 crore per annum internationally in 2023 and 57 LPA in 2024. Average package is approximately 18 lap - 25 LPA. CU provides various offers in course like data analyst, cloud computing, IT, and more.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities provided by college in hostels like 24/7 electricity, water, Wi-Fi and many more. The infrastructure of hostels are very nice and good. The buildings are like societies. Mess and gym facilities are provided at specific timings. The classrooms are very much better and digitally as projectors are installed in every class. Labs and classrooms are well cleaned and hygienic. Library facility is available in every block. Library timings for central library is from 6 am to 10 pm on everyday either is holiday or not. Canteens are available everywhere.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. All professors are Ph.D. holders or pursuing Ph.D. and asst. Professor are done by Masters or pursuing Masters or Ph.D. Semester exams are not designed by teachers as all the ques are selected by computer system itself randomly so there is no chance of paper knowing before it held. Difficult level is not very high. And pass percentage of students is approximately 99.
Other: There is aeprate department for events and cultural functions held in college. CU promotes every culture and religion.

The college has good infrastructure and organises many events, they have decent placements.
Placements: Many students received packages of 25-52 LPA in various companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, and many others. Around 80% of students were placed in our course. Around 65% of students secured internships at reputed companies like Google, Zoho, and IBM.
Infrastructure: The college provides spacious classrooms and well-maintained computer labs. The library is extensive and offers a variety of journals and e-resources. The hostel provides 24/7 electricity, water supply, and high-speed internet. A 24/7 medical clinic is available with an ambulance, along with advanced sports complexes.
Faculty: The curriculum is updated regularly to include emerging trends in technology. Semester exams are moderately challenging. The pass percentage for our batch was 85%, reflecting good teaching quality. Professors are highly qualified and approachable and are helpful in resolving doubts.
Other: I chose this course because I always had an interest in computer science and mathematics. What I like about this course is its impact on the world and how many unique technologies keep emerging daily. I think introducing the basics of coding in school, before students go to college and choose computer science without any basic knowledge of code, would be beneficial, as not many people had coding as a subject in school and recklessly choose this stream. The college organizes many events for students, whether academic or for entertainment. They have good connectivity and invite many motivational speakers to motivate the students. The college provides scholarships to students through a specific exam.

Review of Law department of Chandigarh University .
Placements: There are only 25-30 students who get placed in every batch from all departments, such as LL.B., B.A., LL.B., BBA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B, etc. B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) is very weak compared to the total strength of the university. The average package is listed about 5 Lacs in their website but I believe it to be comparatively less. Most students were placed in law firms in Chandigarh or Delhi. As for law department, the placement record is not so good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided by the university is top-class. A new library is opened this year in the department, and I would say this is a great step taken by the university. A projector is also provided in every classroom. Talking about hostel facilities, 4 seater rooms are generally available with cooler facilities. Mess food is also good, and canteen facilities are also provided in every corner of this university.
Faculty: Talking about the faculty of the university, most teachers are very professional. They have completed their graduation from Chandigarh University itself and are not really qualified in teaching well. They would not even recommend books to the students. PPTs will be provided that will cover the whole syllabus. The course curriculum is no doubt good. The semester exams are also not really difficult, as most questions come from PPTs. However, it does not make the students industry ready because of the qualified staff.

Good placement, and good infrastructure.
Placements: More than 80 students were placed in my optometry course. Companies such as Bausch and Lomb and Lenskart offer internships and placements. We can become contact lens dispensers or medical experts. You learn very well in a good environment.
Infrastructure: The department is very study-friendly, with well-equipped instruments and a library with the required books. The hostel food is delicious, and the infrastructure is very good. The university provides all the necessary facilities. You will love it here. Hostel wardens are friendly and good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-equipped and knowledgeable. The course outcome is relevant, and semester exams are good and meet expectations. Subjects are not hard if you attend class regularly. The department is well-equipped with reliable instruments. Teachers are helpful and experienced.
Other: I chose this course to become a health worker. I love this course after learning about it. The events here are great. Fests are enjoyable.

I am satisfied with CU. Having a great life here.
Placements: The highest salary package offered was 1.5 crores per annum, and the average salary package offered was 10 LPA in my branch. This is last year's data. Top companies like Amazon, Google, and Facebook have recruited students from my branch at a high pay scale. Hackathons and competitions are conducted regularly to prepare students for placements.
Infrastructure: Their classrooms can accommodate 100 students easily. They are fully air-conditioned. There are two hostel options available for boys air-conditioner and non-air-conditioner, and only non-air-conditioner for girls. The air-conditioner room is shared by 5 students, but the room is big enough, whereas the non-air-conditioner boys' room is quite compact. All rooms are Wi-Fi enabled. There are many libraries across the university with a great collection of books. There is a sports complex and a magnificent number of canteens all over the campus. Also, the campus is divided into two: North campus and South campus.
Faculty: Professors are great. They know their subject, but their delivery might be a topic of concern. The 1st-year course curriculum is designed to provide all the basic knowledge that can be useful in further years. There are two mid-semester exams and an end semester. There are 4 practical examinations. The evaluation process is quite complex but certainly justifies the scores based on performance.

Honest review after passing out.
Placements: Marketing placements were more. Even in banking fields and banking companies, mostly companies were referring students with marketing specialisation in minor. Companies for finance was very less. Recession is also going on so can't blame the university for that.
Infrastructure: Hostel is not that good. There are no AC in the hostel. Food was good for the first month only after that it was really unsanitary and taste like garbage. Options for ordering food were also very less. To order from Zomato also we had to go outside the hostel. Delivery partners weren't allowed inside the main GATE.
Faculty: Faculty was good. A little more could have been added in the curriculum. More practical things regarding our field could have been taught but they weren't. Some suggestion could have been taken from the students regarding the curriculum. I think some changes should be made.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Chandigarh University (CU)?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Here's the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Chandigarh University (CU):

Placement Cell Effectiveness

* According to students and alumni, only "a few" students from their course have been placed by the university's placement cell.
* However, many students from the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department have been placed with good salary packages.
* While there isn't much information available about the placement cell's performance specifically for B.A. programs, it appears that the cell has had limited success in placing students from these courses.
* Overall, while CU's placement cell seems to have potential, it would benefit from improvement and increased efforts to place students from all disciplines.

Note: Since most of the information provided is anecdotal and doesn't represent a representative sample size, it's difficult to draw definitive conclusions about the effectiveness of the placement cell. Further research or data would be needed to gain a more complete understanding of the situation.
