BSEB 12th Preparation Tips 2024-25: Know Complete Strategy & Guide

To know the right approach in tackling the BSEB examinations 2025, students must go through the preparation tips and tricks mentioned below:

1. Solve Previous Years’ Question Paper: Solving previous 5-10 question papers gives an idea about the exam pattern and frequently asked questions. These papers test your knowledge and understanding of concepts. The paper pattern orients you to the difficulty level of the exam. It builds question-solving skills and confidence among students. 
2. Revision: Revision is the final touch. Don’t wait till the last moment to revise. Instead, choose a day from the week and revise whatever you have completed till then. Try completing the syllabus two months before your board exams. It gives you ample time to revise.
3. Time Management: Create a time table and allot equal time for studying each subject. Time management helps students avoid stress arising during exam preparation. A deadline for each subject helps you complete your studies in the stipulated time. Study when you are most productive. 
4. Study Method: Every person has their own pattern of studying. It’s good to set your own study hours. Assign more time to the subjects that are tougher. This makes tough subjects easier to study. Take a rest before studying. For example, if you study at night then take proper rest in the evening. Alternatively, if you study early in the morning, then have a sound sleep at night. It helps in studying with a fresh mind.
5. No New Topics Before the Exam: Don’t start a new topic before the exam. This shakes your confidence and makes you feel that you have not studied efficiently. If you have skipped something during your preparation, leave it.  Revise the essential topics you have prepared and relax before the exam. Stay stress-free and confident about your exam preparation. 
6. Work on Your Weak Points: Know what your weak points are and work hard to improve them. Learn from your mistakes. Look at your pre-board answer sheets and work on improving your mistakes. It helps to make notes of your weak points. Try and make notes of whatever you feel is very important and revise them on a daily basis. 
7. Rest and Diet: Take sufficient rest in between your study schedule. Allocate about 6-7 hours for comfortable sleep. Indulge in yoga or exercise. These things help you feel refreshed. Eat a healthy diet. Make sure your food is rich in nutrients and low on sugar. Eating green vegetables, nuts and protein-rich items makes you feel energetic. 
8. Make Notes: Writing notes is a good habit to help you learn effectively. For every subject, make notes of the essential things to remember. For numerical based subjects like Maths and Physics, make notes of the formulas. This will help you with the last-minute revision. Keep a diary of solved numericals for your reference. It assists with last-minute exam preparation.
9. Make an achievable study plan – Make a study plan which is practical. There is no point in making a plan where you need to get up at 2 am or 3 am to study! Instead, follow a practical approach and allot reasonable hours to your study time. In addition to this, cue in break time too so that you can refresh your mind. A refreshed mind helps you learn things easily. 
10. Study from quality books – It is easier to understand and learn concepts from a good, prescribed book. Ask your teachers or search online for related suggestions that help you prepare well for your biology BSEB class 12th exam.  
11. Complete the syllabus in three rounds – The first round is of general reading where you finish the entire syllabus by simply focussing on reading all the topics. This gives you a basic idea of all the topics. The second round is of making detailed notes. The final round comprises thorough learning and revision sessions.
12. Learn and prepare the easy topics first – It is a good strategy to cover the easy topics first. After that, take up the difficult ones. Finishing the easier topics gives you confidence and a feeling of achievement.
13. Understand the concepts – There is no sense in simply mugging up things when you do not understand them. Hence, first, understand your topic and then learn. If you are unable to understand a certain topic or concept, mark it and move ahead. Next day, discuss the marked concept with your peers or teacher.
14. Practice diagrams – Diagrams are an easy way to score good marks. Practice diagrams regularly. Make sure to label them neatly. The regular practice of drawing good diagrams help you draw them easily during your exam time. Remember to put diagrams in most of your biology answers even when you are not asked to do so. Diagrams create a good impression and pave the way for good marks. 

1. Previous years’ question papers: Solve question papers from the last 10 years. It provides insights on important topics and frequently asked questions. Questions are often repeated in board exams and answering them will give you a great boost. Solve as many previous year question papers as possible because they give a good idea about where you stand and where you need to improve.
2. Give chapter-wise importance: For example, Calculus has the highest weight of 44 marks with 20 objective types, 8 short and 2 long answer type questions appearing from the topic. Such an analysis is required for meticulous preparation.
3. Revision: Revision is the most important step in preparing for any examination. By regularly reviewing various topics, you can avoid forgetting learned topics. Only through continuous practice and time management, students can score very well in Math. Keep revising your subjects every day so you don't forget things you've already learned. Remember, Math is a scoring subject. And, one can even score 100 out of 100! So, practice as much as you can.
4. NCERT Books: The majority of questions are asked from NCERT book. So students must give more importance to NCERT book. Go through all the questions in the textbook. This will help them solve maximum questions in the examination. The book is also for competitive exams such as JEE and NEET. Hence, students should prepare for this book.
5. Avoid last-minute revision: Last-minute revision of new subjects causes nervousness or frustration. It can affect your performance during the exam. Go through your notes and relax a day before the exam. On the exam morning, have a good breakfast and reach the examination hall on time. Do not hurry, but also don’t be late too.
6. Prepare a Timetable: Follow a strict routine and fix daily hours for study to achieve great marks. Instead of dedicating an entire day to books, focus and follow a routine throughout the year. This helps in alleviating self-confidence which helps in preparing for the examinations.

BSEB 12th Exam Pattern

According to the BSEB 12th Exam Pattern, the BSEB 12th exams have 50% multiple-choice questions, carrying 1 mark each. Subjects having both theory and practicals will only have 35 MCQ in the theory paper. The total exam duration is 3 hours and 15 minutes.
