All the students preparing for the CBSE Class 12th board commerce examinations must cover the entire syllabus well in time. At least a month should be kept reserved for revision of all the important things. Here are a few CBSE Class 12 preparation tips for Commerce subjects that the students can follow to secure good marks in the examinations.
CBSE 12th Accountancy Preparation 2025
Focus topics: Follow topics in Accountancy that carry good weightage and practice them thoroughly. Accounting for Share Capital and Debentures, Accounting for Partnership Firms, Accounting for Not for Profit Organizations, and Accounting for Partnership Firms are a few of them.
Formats: Attention should be paid while making formats for journals, ledgers, and balance sheets. While preparing ledger accounts, students should post all the entries in their respective accounts simultaneously rather than preparing the accounts individually.
Calculation: Practice plenty of problems from sample papers and previous years’ question papers. This will help gain good command over calculations. As this is a numerical subject, calculation plays a key role.
Step marking: Since CBSE gives marks according to steps, even if one does not arrive at the final solution there is no need to panic. In case of wrong answer and correct steps, students will be awarded some marks.
Flashcards: One should make flashcards to remember the definitions of terms like liabilities, profit, and loss, assets, and debts.

CBSE 12th Business Studies Preparation 2025
- Before one starts the exam, utilize the first 15 minutes to scan the paper. Read the question paper thoroughly before jumping to write the answers.
- Among the questions with internal choices, select the ones that seem familiar and that students plan to attempt, and frame skeletons of the answers to write for these questions.
- Follow a pattern. For example, in case students start with long answer questions, complete that section and only then move to short or very short answer section.
- Highlight the important points and write the answer in points to enhance visibility.
CBSE 12th Economics Preparation 2025
- It is very difficult to cram a subject like economics. So, it is beneficial if one takes notes, attend lectures and study actively. Enhance the economic vocabulary by knowing the definitions, meaning of different economic-related terms and even participating in discussions.
- Before attending a class, try to skim the chapter so as to have an idea of what are the concepts to be learned in that chapter.
- Move topic wise. For example, read something on microeconomics, then, move to some other book to understand microeconomics in greater depths. Then move to a book that teaches macroeconomics. This way, students will not study disjoint material.
- Try to figure out what a specific problem asks for. Think about the data needed to answer it. Know what it wants, know how to find it, and other factors needed for the outcome to be optimal.
- Try to know the various economic models. Look for figures of the models and read the captions.
- Ensure to understand all the terms in bold. Most of these terms would be recurring concepts throughout the course (for example supply, demand, elasticity, market, and industry)
Preparing well for CBSE 12th examinations will help students prepare for the upcoming competitive exams like DU JAT, SET, IPU CET etc. However, to know more about DU JAT preparation, CAT preparation students can click on the link provided.
