NTSE Sample Papers 2023: Download National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) previous years' question papers and sample papers to get an insight into the questions which are generally expected in the NTSE exam in both the MAT (Mental Ability Test) and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) sections along with the marking scheme.Â
The students would also be able to judge the difficulty level of the questions asked in the examination through these papers and hence work on their weak areas. Solving as many sample papers would also help the students in time management, strengthen fundamental knowledge and gain a better understanding of theories and principles. MAT questions would also help the students in further enhancement of their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Since many competitive exams follow a similar pattern as that of NTSE, practising papers for NTSE would also help the students in preparation for other exams also.
The State-level examination has two papers:
- Paper-I Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Paper-II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
The students are assessed on both the sections and are nominated further for Stage-II of the examination which is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
NTSE pattern Important points:
- Only candidates qualifying in both the papers separately will be considered for merit.
- The selection of the candidates will be made on the total score obtained in both Paper-I (MAT) and Paper-II (SAT).
- There will be no negative marking in the examination.
- One mark each would be awarded for each correct answer.
- There will be 100 questions in each paper (MAT and SAT).
- Each paper would be of 120 minutes except for the visually challenged candidates.
- The visually challenged candidates will be given 150 minutes each for Paper-I and Paper-II.
- The minimum marks required to be eligible to sit for Stage-II exam is 40% in each MAT and SAT for the general and OBC category students. However, a minimum of 32% is required in the case of SC/ST/physically challenged candidates.
