It was the best college with a beautiful campus and great college life.
Placements: The placement of NIT Hamirpur in Engineering Physics was decent, with around 50%+ of students placed, and many students go for higher education. Many companies come to the college, such as companies related to nanotechnology, electrical companies, and many others. You can also go for research if you have an interest.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available for the course was best. There was proper ventilation, Wi-Fi, electricity, and a proper library. The hostel is best, but there were some restrictions for first-year students; they are not allowed to go outside the hostel after 8:15 pm. The quality of the mess was decent, and the medical facility was awesome, with an ambulance available on campus. There are many sports events, and inter-college sports events are also held.
Faculty: The faculty was awesome, very helpful, and well-educated. The teaching quality was awesome. Yes, the course is the best and prepares you for the industry, especially if you have an interest in Physics and want to become a researcher. The course is a little difficult compared to others, but not that much.
Other: I chose this because I have an interest in Physics and want to work on nanotechnology, which is why I chose this course. There are two big events held at NIT Hamirpur: the first one is Hillfair, which is a cultural fest, and the second one is Nimbus, which is a technical fest. The campus has around 350 acres, which is great, and many extracurricular activities are included. There are also internet events held, and you can join many clubs that help you to improve your knowledge. Scholarships are also provided through NSP and other private scholarships.

NIT Hamirpur - Engineering in the Himalayas.
Placements: Around 10 percent of students were placed in M. Tech in water resources engineering. The highest package offered was 8 LPA, and the lowest was 6.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T and Aditya Birla. 100 percent of students got internships in my course in government. Companies like NHAI and SJVN.
Infrastructure: My college offers great facilities like Wi-Fi in every hostel, library, and lecture halls and also the department buildings, which are well maintained, with modern infrastructure and new facilities being added each year. The food offered in the mess is good, and the menu is decided by the students themselves. Each hostel offers sports facilities like badminton, table tennis, and also a gym.
Faculty: The faculty is great with highly qualified individuals, who are mostly helpful. The teaching quality may suffer a little bit due to the busy schedule of the teachers, but it's better than what most of the other colleges offer. The course curriculum does need an upgrade to match the present needs of the industry. The semester exams are of medium difficulty, and around 95-98 percent of students pass.
Other: I chose this course because it will help me in becoming a professor one day. My college is really beautiful, as I've also done my B. Tech. From here, I can't get enough of it. I want my course to make me more industry-ready if I want to take a placement someday. The college has one major fest each semester with several small events continuing to take place throughout the year. The campus is beautiful with lush green forest areas surrounding the buildings, with a big playground.

Good environment overall, but the hostels are of very bad quality, with several water problems.
Placements: Around 76 students are in my batch. The highest package for chemical engineering last year (2023) was 52 lakh, while the lowest is not specified. The top recruiter was HUL (Hindustan Unilever), and a total of 100% of students got placed last year, with an average package of around 10 lakh.
Infrastructure: Most of the faculty is knowledgeable and good, but some teachers are quite rude and misbehave. Certain lectures can be hard to understand because of the teachers' accents. They also frequently remind us that we are beneath them, which I feel is inappropriate when addressing freshers.
Faculty: Some teachers have very good knowledge and behavior, while others are rude and misbehave. They try to portray themselves as superior while ensuring that even the slightest mistakes are pointed out at every opportunity.

Overall good faculty and facilities providing good placement of 80% and a beautiful campus.
Placements: Around 90% of students were placed in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, with the highest package being 32 LPA and the lowest being 4 LPA. I don't know much about the top recruiting companies. I think 50-60% of people got internships from this course. I don't know much about the top roles offered this year.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and the library are better than many NITs, with good Wi-Fi speed. The food available in the mess is also of good quality, with the canteen providing food at a reasonable price and with good quality. The medical facilities are the best because we are provided with free ambulance service, and if our on-campus health center is not capable in any situation, we are sent immediately to Hamirpur District Hospital, which is free of cost and has the best facilities.
Faculty: All teachers are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are ready to help any student in need and provide study material. Yes, I think the course curriculum is good enough to make students industry-ready. Semester exams are not so tough, with a passing percentage of 40.
Other: I chose this course because I only got this based on my percentile, but I got a beautiful campus along with better facilities. For improvement of the course, we need to add AI courses and courses about robotics, which are top-notch fields.

NIT Hamirpur: An Honest Review.
Placements: We get eligible for internships during the 5th semester and for placements during the 7th semester. Companies like Tata Power, Reliance, Jio, Larsen and Toubro, Noida Power, Exide, Schneider Electric, Honda, Maruti, JSW, etc., come to the campus. The highest package in my branch was 15 Lacs, and the average package is around 8 Lacs. In 2024, around 70% of students got placed. My plan after getting my degree is to go for a master's degree. A less number of companies give internship opportunities compared to placements. Companies like Jio, Honda, Wells Fargo, Amazon (now banned us), and some more came for internships, but they selected a very small number of students, though they got PPOs.
Infrastructure: Hostels are less according to the number of students, so rooms are congested because they have more students. Rooms have beds, chairs, tables, and almirahs. For the first three years, students live in 3/4 occupancy rooms. Bathrooms are not maintained but are cleaned regularly. Mess food is average. There was no Wi-Fi facility in my hostel, but 2-3 hostels were having it, though the quality was not good. The library was big and contained many books. Medical facilities were good, and medicines were free. There were 4-5 canteens in the whole college.
Faculty: In each semester, we had 4 exams (2 quizzes, a midsem, and an end sem). There was a 75% attendance criteria in the college. The faculty-to-student ratio was poor, but it has improved as they have recruited some more teachers in my last year. But class strength is too big to learn in the class. Some teachers are very strict about attendance, and some are lenient. Faculty members also do not care much about the students. Most of the exams were easy to medium-difficult if you just studied 1-2 days for the exam. Some of the subjects of the course were relevant.
Other: The admission to this college is on the basis of the JEE Main examination. Then the students have to register themselves on the JoSAA platform, and they will be assigned this college on the basis of their choice and merit in the exam. There is no interview or GD for the admission process. NIT Hamirpur has 2 fests, one technical and one cultural. Nimbus (tech fest) is arranged in the month of March, and Hillfair (cultural fest) is arranged in the month of November. The college has a team for cricket, football, basketball, badminton, chess, and table tennis. There are many clubs and societies, both technical and cultural, like dance clubs, music, bhangra clubs, etc.

Overall the college is good with good infrastructure.
Placements: The placement are on an average of 10 to 11 LPA, including all branch wise. At top, in terms of placement is CSE, after that is ECE, electrical, mechanical and then chemical. One more thing placement depends on you, how you improve yourself here.
Infrastructure: Campus wise the college is good but you have some restrictions in beginning of 1st year but overall it is good to take admission. There is no issue regarding mess food. It is decent as expected but the infrastructure is awesome. It is surrounded by mountains and trees.
Faculty: You will have a little bit academic pressure but the faculty is awesome. The teachers are highly knowledgeable, you won't have any issue regarding studies. There is a library too in which there are a lot of books. There is a study room also in campus, you will feel free to study.
