National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the UGC NET June Cycle Phase 1 exam from June 13 to 17, 2023. The NTA UGC NET exam will be held online in various exam centres across 541 cities in India. The exam will be conducted in two shifts every day. The first shift is from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and the second shift is from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The NTA makes the proper arrangements at the UGC NET exam centres 2023 for the smooth conduct of the exam.

Candidates need to follow a few exam day instructions and guidelines at the centres on the day of the UGC NET 2023 examination.   • One passport size photograph: Candidates need to carry one passport size photograph same as uploaded on the UGC NET application form 2023 for pasting on the attendance sheet.
  • Photo ID proof: Candidates must also carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the test centre. It may be noted that photocopies of the IDs even if attested or on mobile phones will not be considered. Q:   What is the exam shift timing for UGC NET exam?

A:

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) provides 541 exam centres across India in several districts for the candidates. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.

  • Attire: Candidates should not wear shoes or footwear with thick soles. Also, candidates must not wear clothes with large buttons to the test centre.  
  • Personal belongings: Candidates should not carry any personal belongings such as mobile phones, purses or electronic devices such as calculators inside the test centre. Exam authority will not be responsible for the safe keep of the personal belongings of candidates.

UGC NET 2023: Reporting Time & Exam Day Instructions

  • Candidates must reach the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card;
  • Candidates should read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the exam.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card and photo ID proof.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre after 8.30 am in the first shift and after 2.30 pm in the second shift.
  • Candidates should report at the exam room at the centres by 8.45 am in the first shift and by 2.45 pm in the second shift.
  • Candidates must not leave the UGC NET exam hall before the paper ends.
  • On completion of the paper, candidates must wait for the instructions from the invigilator and must not right away get up from their seat to leave the exam hall.
  • Candidates wearing special attire such as burqa, hijab, turban, etc. must reach the exam centre early for thorough checking.
  • Candidates should sit on the seat indicating their roll numbers only. The candidature will stand cancelled if candidates change their room or seat on their own.

  • All social distancing guidelines laid out by the Government of India will be followed at the test centre
  • Before the start of each shift of the exam, the complete seating area including, the monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk, chair, etc. will be thoroughly sanitized

  • At the entry, admit cards of the candidates will be scanned through barcode readers
  • At the time of entry, the body temperature of candidates will be checked using thermo guns
  • Candidates violating COVID-19 directives/advisories by the Government of India will not be allowed to sit for the paper

A:
If you reach the UGC NET exam center after the exam begins, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. The reporting time and GATE closing time are mentioned on the UGC NET City Intimation Slip. Candidates are advised to reach the exam center well before the reporting time to avoid any last-minute hassles. It is important to note that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the GATE closing time under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates should plan their travel accordingly and factor in any possible delays such as traffic, etc. To avoid reaching late. If a candidate misses the UGC NET exam due to any reason, they will not be allowed to appear for the exam on a later date. They will have to wait for the next exam cycle to apply and appear for the exam.

Q:   At what time should I report at the UGC NET exam centre?

A:

The reporting time for the UGC NET exam varies depending on the shift and the exam center allotted to you. The exam is conducted in two shifts: the first shift starts at 9:00 AM and the second shift starts at 3:00 PM. Candidates are advised to reach the exam center at least one hour before the start of the exam. This is to ensure that you have enough time for the verification process and to avoid any last-minute rush or delays.
