Absolutely satisfied with my college.
Placements: As of April 2024, 1,050 job offers were made to students in 2024 batch, including more than 50 international offers. The top recruiters included Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto, Ola Electric, and Air India. The core (technical) sector was the top recruiting sector, with 42% of students got placed with average and the highest packages. The average package was Rs. 36.9 Lacs per annum, and the highest package was Rs. 1 crore per annum. Students received 100% internships from the recruitment companies, with a stipend of Rs. 4.04 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided are top notch and infrastructure is very good and beautiful as you will expect from an IIT. Wi-Fi is available at most of the places. Labs are also good. Classrooms are big and have good ventilation. Library is so large and have most of the books. Hostel is somewhat crowded (3 people in 1 room), mess food is average but better than others. Sports and games are encouraged in hostels.
Faculty: The professors here are very helpful and they have good knowledge about their respective fields. But you will be able to take benefit from them only if you are interested in learning from them, because sometimes they do not explain things properly. The course curriculum is specially designed after considering present demands. Our course is an interdisciplinary course made using some courses from Computer and mechanical. Semester exams are very difficult as heard from seniors specially APL.
Other: My branch is Engineering and Computational Mechanics. The number of seats in this branch is 40, out of which 32 are boys and 8 are girls.

A value-for-money course.
Placements: Year 2023 was the first placement year as this course was started in 2019. This batch has 40 students. Having a small batch size ensures an interactive environment with friends and professors, unlike CSE or the electrical department. Last year, the highest package was about 40 Lacs per annum, and I have no idea about the lowest package. But personally, I had confirmed with my professor that almost every student got more than 1 Lacs per month as their in-hand salary. 38 students were placed out of 40. It is more of an industry-based course. Talking about top recruiting companies, most of the students were hired by WIPRO.
Infrastructure: This course comes under the APPLIED MECHANICS department. It has its own labs and instruments and a separate building. Its main focus is on solid and fluid mechanics. Labs are well-equipped and have a 24/7 Wi-Fi connection with a limit of 10GB/day. Professors take our lectures on LHC, IIT Delhi. Moreover, the hostel is average, but you will have a good time with your friends. Hostel food is delicious and healthy. A night mess is available for every hostel, which runs from 10 PM to 4 AM for night owls.
Faculty: Yes, all professors are knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is fabulous. Yes, the course curriculum is totally relevant to industry needs. This course is a little bit harder compared to chemical and mechanical, but it has more job opportunities than them. However, don't get confused about the word "computational" in the name. It is not related to computer science, although the course includes machine learning.
Other: I chose this course to extend my knowledge in the usage of physics in daily life things.

I am happy to study in this college.
Placements: 67% of students in our course were placed this year. The highest package for our course is 45 LPA, and the lowest package is around 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Air India, American Express, Hydrobots, Jaguar Land Rover India Limited, Google, and Piramal Finance. Around 40% of students got internships in my course, and they were done at high-tech companies.
Infrastructure: My course provided excellent infrastructure for labs, classrooms, library, Wi-Fi, etc. Everything in our college is excellent; the food quality is good, and the college provides a free medical facility 24/7 for students in the IITD hospital. The sports facilities are also excellent here.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and very knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is outstanding. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. The exams are a bit difficult, but if we are regular, they become manageable. The pass percentage is 30%.
Other: I like the courses because they have both core and technical content. So far, everything is good. Events and festivals in our college are amazing: good crowd, nice connectivity among each other, etc.

Very good for a mix of CS as well as mechanics.
Placements: The placements for this branch are yet to happen, as it is a relatively new branch. However, as it is a circuital branch, there is high scope in core as well as non core if you wish. Some of the companies expected to come include Bosch, Microsoft, etc. Most students in this branch got internships in their third year, and some in the second year as well.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is very excellent. All the lecture halls and grounds look very beautiful. The labs are also very well-equipped, and they will provide you with anything you may need for your various projects. The Wi-Fi is moderate, and is sometimes really fast but sometimes broken. The food quality in the mess is average, but there is good food in the restaurants on campus.
Faculty: All the faculty here are very knowledgeable and skilled in their field. However, despite being skilled in their field, some of them are good teachers while some of them are not. It is a mixed batch. For core jobs, the cirric is relevant, and you can apply for Masters in top colleges if you wish. The semester exams are moderately difficult, but leave you with time for other activities. The pass percentage varies from subject to subject.
Other: I personally had difficult choosi bet this course and mechanical engineering in IIT bombay. Eventually I chose this because it was a mix of CS and mechanics, and I do not reg it.

IIT Delhi from the perspective of a ECM student .
Placements: As my course is very new (started in 2020) there is no placement yet in IIT Delhi from this course. But the Third year students appeared in for the summer internship recruitments and had a quiet good recruitment percentage as per the batch of about 25%. Major of them being in the core companies and some in tech and finance too. The core companies for my course is same as that of mechanical branch including WIPRO, TCS etc.
Infrastructure: The expectation from the infrastructure of my department are really MET as per expected from an IIT. The Department has well maintained and air-conditioned lecture theatres along with highly functional and maintained labs for the courses. The whole campus has high-speed Wi-Fi available for the students. The classrooms in Lecture Hall complex are air-conditioned as well. The Library is really big and doesn't fall short when it comes to availability of books and also can accommodate a large number of students in the reading area. The library usually opens upto 4am and 24*7 during exams.
Faculty: The professors are highly qualified and really helpful in general and also in case there are still doubts left after the lecture one can easily reach out to the teaching assistants who are Ph.D. or PG students and are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching methods and quality is absolutely phenomenon. The courses are structured very well for students to easily get through everything required in the future courses before hand. The exam curriculum can be hectic at times depending on what courses one has pursued in that specific semester but if one has been with lectures and solved tutorial sheets he/she can easily get through exams with really good grades. The pass percentage generally is 30%. .
Other: I was really interested in mechanics and wanted to pursue mechanical engineering however the inclination of the industry towards the tech sector also made me think about computer sciences and this course was just the midway of the two hence I chose to pursue this course of Engineering and Computational Mechanics. The course would be much better if there was a bit more fraction of the tech or computer Science part in the course than what is currently. The events, fest, campus, crowd and almost every thing just amazing and one can never get tired of the events there is always one or the event going on in the campus and there is metro right outside the gates hence one is connected to the whole of Delhi. There are merit based scholarships in the college.
