Q:   What is the time gap between the UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 exam?

A:
There is no time gap between the UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 exam. The UGC NET exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all candidates and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each. It tests the candidate's teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper 2 consists of questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each. The time duration of the UGC NET exam is of 3 hours and there not gaps between these papers. The candidates have to take the exam in one go. However, there is no time limit for completing Paper 1 or Paper 2 exam. The candidate can switch to any question in Paper 1or Paper 2 in the exam hours.

Q:   Why is the UGC NET confirmation page important?

A:
The UGC NET confirmation page is important because it serves as proof of the successful submission of the application form. It contains important details such as the application number, personal details of the candidate, exam details, and transaction details (in case of online payment). The confirmation page also contains the photograph and signature of the candidate, which are uploaded during the application process. The UGC NET confirmation page should be printed and kept safely by the candidate as it may be required during various stages of the selection process, such as downloading the admit card, checking the result, and at the time of document verification. In case of any discrepancies or errors in the information provided on the confirmation page, the candidate must immediately contact the authorities and get it rectified. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the application form. Therefore, it is important to keep the UGC NET confirmation page safe until the completion of the selection process.

Q:   What are the different stages of UGC NET exam?

A:
The UGC NET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA consists of two papers and does not have different stages. The exam is conducted in a single session on the same day, and the selection of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor is based solely on the performance of the candidates in the written exam. The two papers of the UGC NET exam are as follows: a) Paper 1: This paper is common for all candidates and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each. The time duration for this paper is 1 hour. B) Paper 2: This paper consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each, based on the subject chosen by the candidate.
